I had a vitamix before my surgery and it has been a great addition to my WL. Costly but so worth it. Blends everything perfect and the clean up is the best. Little hot water and dish soap and put on the base and turn on high. Raise and air dry. Not all those parts to take apart.

I can not figure a pattern to my weight loss. Hope yours continues. Best of luck

Post-op day 2 and regretting
cjnorris replied to Ashley1213's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It gets better....take each day as it comes. -
My taste buds have changed so much and being off carbs I seldom miss my old junkie food. I think you will be amazed at your changes as you travel your journey. Best of luck
-
Either are great choices...get the one you really want and enjoy it bite by bite. Take the rest home. Sometimes I opt for a soup if it is protein based verses the salad at upscale restaurants. Have fun.

It does not last forever.. Mine was falling out around 3 months. Got my hair cut short and then I did not notice it so bad. All that hair in the bathroom almost tipped me over. Lol it stopped at about 5 months. Can't even tell I had hair loss now at 7 months.

I only weigh at my dr appointments. I refused to let the scale have power over me. Follow your plan, get your protein and fluids and the weigh will come off. Good plan on your part. Best of luck
-
It took me about 8 weeks. But at one time early on I was not getting enough protein. When my nutritionist looked at my journal she spotted the problem. Good luck.
-
The goal is 64 oz but you won't be able to hit that in the beginning. Keep a food and fluid journal. Your surgeon and nutritionist can help monitor it. Fluids were easier for me than food.

Bus or truck drivers with sleeve
cjnorris replied to BrookeDM's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I think that might be a bit much...I would not of been able to of done it 4 days after surgery. Two weeks maybe. -
I'm not a year yet but was a huge sugar junkie prior to surgery. My tastes have changed a great deal. I do not crave sugar at all and the few times I have had something sugary it did not taste that great so never felt like I needed it again. Good luck
-
I use the already mixed protein shakes..easier and I like them. No clean up. Lol. I like pure protein chocolate (23 grams of protein) and premier chocolate (30 grams of protein) I get both from Walmart. Also Amazon has them.

anyone else over 60 having or have had the sleeve surgery
cjnorris replied to Durlinda's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 7 months post sleeve and I'm 58. Best thing I have done. Saved my life. Best of Luck. Age is only a number. -
I was 58 and never been in a hospital, let alone have surgery. I was scared but after my research and finding a great surgeon I put it in God's Hands. He brought me through it. So glad I did. You have your whole life ahead of you..living it healthy would be such a gift. Whatever you decide, just know everyone has nerves about the complications. A positive attitude is worth so much on this journey. Best of luck.

They are totally normal...don't allow them power over you on this journey. They came and go. Follow your program through them and that is what matters. Your body has to take breaks too

MUST HAVES FOR SURGERY DAY

Loose clothes and chapstick -
My surgeon and primary care physician set it after my 6 month appointment. I'm 5'11 with a large frame. So we decided 190 would be the goal. I will be happy to be 199 and out of the two hundreds. . 80 more to get there. I'm going to do it before my first yr anniversary. However I set little goals along the way. I never thought this would be possible. I'm so happy I got the sleeve and got my life back. Best of Luck

Fantastic...what is a foam roller?
-
Sorry...I think I would wait a few days. Do as your surgeon said..pain med, ice it. From time to time I had weird things happen and it was just part of the healing of surgery and a new stomach.
-
That is great news..shout it out loud. Congratulations

Let's talk about teeth..and stuff
cjnorris replied to galenight's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had that same issue. I was brushing my teeth several times a day. I agree it was the protein shakes and increased amounts of protein. I did get regular cleaning from my dentist and that helped. It has gone away I'm 6 months post -
Congratulations and best wishes on your new journey. Life is beautiful healthy
-
Not a silly question..I was like you, never been in the hospital in my entire life before my surgery in Dec'14. I had one. They put it in while I was under and the took it out the next day. It was no big deal. Actually it was kind of nice not having to get up in the middle of the night. Best of Luck with your journey. Best thing I ever did was to get the sleeve.

what do you take for arthritis pain?
cjnorris replied to Debbie623's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Celebrex is an NSAID. Be sure you discuss the use with your surgeon. You don't want to get an ulcer or bleed. My doctor allows me some liquid hydrocodine prn for my knee pain.
