Ugh, I've been struggling too. I've been stuck at the same weight for about a month, which makes it even harder to stay motivated to eat right! Starting today, I'm getting back to basics - only focusing on protein and no carbs! We can do this! -
Has anyone tried using HCG with post surgery diet?
krissy202001 replied to Shustar's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I also don't think it's a good idea, if only because of the excess skin and hair loss. You usually have both from WLS and the hcg will make it worse, I think. I lost 45 lbs on hcg a few years ago but gained it all back plus more after I stopped the diet! -

Who eats spaghetti squash and how far out were you when you ate it? I'm 8 weeks and can have soft veggies but wasn't sure if spaghetti squash would be included.

To Catheter or Not to Catheter?
krissy202001 replied to Sutter Phoenix's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My dr cathed me but I begged for it to be taken out as soon as I woke up and they did. They want you to walk as much as possible after surgery anyway. -
Anyone try new Fairlife milk?
krissy202001 replied to aSleeveStory's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have switched to it and so has hubby, who has not had WLS nor does he need it. We love the extra protein and it doesn't taste bad! -

Has anyone taken liquid Vitamins post op and have one you recommend? I am 4 weeks out and I can't stand the chewable vitamins I was recommended. I have been looking at liquids but there are so many available, I don't know which one to buy!
-
At what point did you start eating lunch meat? I am 4 weeks out but my paperwork never listed lunch meat, hot dogs, etc as options. I was thinking of wrapping lunch meat around a piece of cheese or eating a turkey hot dog.

Does anyone have experience with taking essential oils internally after surgery? The brand I use, doTerra, includes supplement facts on any that can be taken internally. Before surgery, I was using lemon oil in my water everyday. I have multiple things I'd like to use in a capsule form but I'm concerned. I'm only 4 weeks out so I don't want to swallow anything that might irritate my new tummy.

Sleeved with PCOS, don't want to get pregnant
krissy202001 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am almost 3 weeks post op sleeve. I take birth control pills to regulate my cycle but I've been spotting/bleeding on and off since my surgery almost 3 weeks ago. Is it possible my pills aren't being absorbed well enough and I could possibly end up pregnant? That is the last thing I want right now! -

When did you start exercising?
krissy202001 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 2 weeks post op and wondering when I should start exercising. I've been walking outside but my hubby thinks I should be hitting the gym already. -

I wasn't given a calorie goal, only protein goal and a list of approved foods. But I'm only 2 weeks post op. I've been getting less than 500 calories. I know some people who are 2 years past surgery and they eat around 1000 calories a day. I think if you try to hit your protein goal and choose lean/low fat foods, you probably don't need to worry about calories. -
Did anyone else get a pill your supposed to take for first three months to protect the stomach?
krissy202001 replied to robertweisman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is me, too. The 1000 mg of Tums is for calcium rather than heartburn, though. Tums are calcium carbonate and post-op we do better with calcium citrate. You should ask your nutritionist about switching to something like Citrical. Pre-op I was on Tums for calcium as well, but post-op I was told to switch for better absorption. I was told to take calcium bicarbonate for the first 6 weeks then switch to calcium citrate.
