I wasn't heavy as a child, my teenage years is when I started gaining weight. I don't place blame on anyone, unhealthy eating habits were my choice. Not only was I a military brat where every 2-3 years we moved having to make new friends, and getting used to a new school was truly the worst part of being child of the military.
