I am commenting to follow this post, just interested to hear the different recommendations. I had a lift/augmentation 8 days ago and came home in a hideous bra and did not fit and made my breasts look like cones. As soon as I could remove it to shower (day 2), I put on a Jockey sport bra that I absolutely love, but am ready for a change. At my post-op appointment yesterday, the surgeon said I could transfer to a regular bra, but no underwire for another three weeks. So, when I was at the mall yesterday, I swung through Macy's and tried on a few, but I think a combination of being tired and still sore, was not really into it. I would like to look again this weekend because I just feel so confined in a sports bra and I have to be careful with the shirts I wear because the straps are closer to my neck versus sitting on my shoulders. Best of luck to everyone and happy bra shopping!

Got plastic surgery dates....

Are you on Realself? -
I had my preop appointment earlier in the week and things are starting to get real! I am having a breast augmentation/lift and brachioplasty on Monday, December 28th. The next 10 days are going to fly by with the holidays fast approaching, so I need to make sure I have all my bases covered. I have; -made my final payment -selected my implant size (minimum 400 on my larger side) -got all my scripts filled -purchasing button up pajamas -purchased one large front clasp sports bra -purchased laxatives -stocked up on Protein -purchased six pillows to sleep at a 45 degree angle -purchase six bags of frozen peas Still need to get gauze and ace bandages, but what else am I forgetting and/or what kind of advice do you have to offer me?

Unfortunately, it's just a waiting game for the most part. I took tons of Biotin (started about two months prior to surgery), ate the proper amounts of Protein and also used medicated shampoo (Nioxin) and it still fell out. As I recall, my hair started falling out around month 3 and it fell it in large quantities for a full 6 weeks. Every single night after my shower the drain would literally be full. It did not seem humanly possible to lose the amount of hair I was losing and possibly have any left, but I did. My hair was pretty thick to start with, but I did chose to get it cut short and highlighted about six weeks ago, which was coincidentally about the time it stopped falling out. My weight has plateaued, which I have also been told is also when it stops falling out. Hang in there, it will stop with time!

@@JamieLogical, they did say in my surgeon's office that both have minimal recovery time, which is why I decided to have them done together. I am having surgery on December 28th and am scheduled to go back to work January 4th. @@Djmohr, you are getting really close to your goal!! My surgery fell into place really fast. I got an itch one day, researched the financing, knew I was off work between holidays and they had an opening, so I went with it. I would like to get my last 8 pounds off before the 28th, but I hurt my back a couple weeks ago and have not been able to exercise for the past two weeks, but oh well, I'll be close :-) Good luck at your consultation!

Help me get these fluids down!
Spiceyfrog replied to Jasley's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Jasley, this is VERY common, hang in there. I was told not to even worry about Protein for the first month, just focus on Fluid so you do not become dehydrated! I think back and remember drinking out of a 2oz medicine cup and how frustrating it was then (I started with Carnation Instant Breakfast). You just have to keep pushing, even if it is 2oz at a time. Now, I am 6 months post op and on a daily basis I drink 8 ounces of fairlife milk in my morning shake and then get a 32oz tea on my way to work (and wow, is it so much easier once you can drink from a straw again) and then will drink at least one 20oz bottle of Water. As for flavors, I can't help much, all I like is tea and occasionally raspberry ice crystal light. I have tried the Protein2O and Isopure and both made me gag. So, again, just hang in there, I promise it does get easier -
Worried about weight gain 8 month po
Spiceyfrog replied to Sam58's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think that is very common for all of us. I am nearing maintenance and do not look forward to the day I have to incorporate more calories. I would like to lose another 10-12 pounds. So, just hang in there and know that is a common fear, especially after what we have all been through because nothing about this road is easy!! -
Protein powders not dissolving
Spiceyfrog replied to Jenny_Baldwin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have any trouble with my Unjury, but still to this day, after mixing my shakes in the morning (in a shaker), I let it sit for about five minutes before pouring it into a cup. -
Got plastic surgery dates....
Spiceyfrog replied to Lacowgirl72's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
No tips because I'm not scheduled until December 28th, but wish you a speedy recovery!! -
I eat very little fruit, simple because once I finally get my Protein in, I don't have any hours left in the day. I have never heard of someone not losing weight because they were getting too much protein. Are you able to get all of your protein in a typical day?

Keep up the good work - that is fantastic!

Great results and Great price! I will be paying $11,000 for augmentation/lift and arms next month.

Fair life Skim? Where are you?

My Meijer was out last week too, I think because it was on sale 2/$6. I had to get a rain check. -
I'm 7 weeks post-op and my hair is really thin!
Spiceyfrog replied to kelly041567's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just keep doing what you are doing, like others said. I took Biotin and put Silica in every single thing I drank and my hair still fell out. I was terrified because for a solid six weeks, it was coming out by the handful. Every time I took a shower (often more than once a day) the drain was literally brown! Thankfully I had a lot of hair to begin with. I am about five months out and recently started using Nioxin shampoo and conditioner and it has nearly stopped. I don't know if is the timing or the shampoo, but I'm beyond happy that it's slowed down. Hang in there! -
Fair life Skim? Where are you?
Spiceyfrog replied to TMG1980TMG's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I get mine at Meijer and that is the only kind of milk (mixed with protein) that does not cause me a great deal of gas. So, yes, it's $3.99 for a half gallon, but has more Protein than regular skim milk and is worth every dollar! -
Recovery time for arm lift with breast lift?
Spiceyfrog replied to bluedreams86's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
@@MichiganChic, can you share or PM me some details about your starting size, how many CC's you added and your ending size? I am really struggling with that and it's stressing me out. I am an A/B right now. I "think" I am going to have around 400 CC's added, but do not want to be larger that a solid C (but dont want to wish I would have gone larger) and still want to be able to run and have them not get in the way. I was referred to the website realself.com and it has been so helpful, but I am so indecisive, it has consumed my life, that's all I think about and I only have six weeks to make the big decision :-) -
Recovery time for arm lift with breast lift?
Spiceyfrog replied to bluedreams86's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
@@bluedreams86, I have not had surgery yet, but had my consultation last week and am scheduled for December 28th. The ladies in the office said both procedures have a very short recovery time and if I were to have it done on a Thursday or Friday, could return to work Monday. I chose to take a few more days than they recommended and booked mine on a Monday and will return to work the following Monday (Jan 4) , so I am taking a week off. They said the wraps will remain on until my post op appointment which is not until Jan 5, so I am not sure how that will go and what I will wear to work those two days, but I'll figure it out. When are your procedures scheduled? -

Has anyone had a breast lift / breast implants?
Spiceyfrog replied to cuchas's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My plastic surgeon did not have any time restrictions and my bariatric surgeon said as long as I am at my goal weight, go for it. I will be just shy of 7 months when I have my plastic surgery in December and I have 17 pounds to lose between now and then. -
WOW, so many great tips here - thank you so much! Realself.com was amazing, I love the fact that you can compare what they looked like before and they list the size of the implant. This website actually made me change my size choice. I have noticed (mostly on television) that larger boobs do sometimes make people look bigger. I have just started buying small tops and would not want to go larger than a medium after surgery. I did buy a large snap in front sports bra this weekend, just for the cups and comfort after surgery. Knowing you are able to run with DDD's is so reassuring. I also love all the positive feedback about the arm because I am really looking forward to being able to wear sleeveless shirts and dresses next summer!!

Hello - I have been on the bypass forums, but just discovered this plastic surgery forum (yeah!). I would like to hear from those who have had their arms done and see pictures if you are willing to post them. I am five months post op, but only 20 pounds from my goal. I have a consultation with a plastic surgeon today and am looking to get my arms and breasts done in late December (because I am off work for the holiday). I had my six month post op appointment with by bariatric surgeon yesterday and he said he did not see a problem as long as I was at my goal weight.

That's great - keep up the great work and before you know it, you will be purchasing size small!

Driving after surgery

I drove two days after I was released from the hospital, but you can drive the following day as long as you are not on any pain medication.
