absolutely take whatever you need with you. Or you can eat before going to the wedding. Make sure you have protein before you go. Since I've been banded in june, i have no problem going places where there is a lot of food, I'm not hungry and have no desire for the food. Remember, you're at the wedding to celebrate your cousins wedding and socialize with other family members. The food should be a very insignificant part of the day. Good Luck

Lola42: I am so sorry for your loss of your mom, how sad for you. I will be praying for you tomorrow that your surgery will go as planned and without a hitch. Your mom's spirit will be with you as will the Holy Spirit.

vzghj3 I think you are right where you should be. I was banded on 6/6 and I've lost 37 lbs also. Remember, we won't lose as fast as the bypass people. You're doing great, keep up the good work kiddo.

Apples, I hear you, it is hard when you have a farm and your job necessitates you to lift. Just be careful you're to precious to be hurt. Susan

Apples, I am so glad to hear your surgery went well and that you are doing well. It must have been tough not being able to take pain meds. I think you're right, it's not a good idea for you to lift anything anymore. Your muscles obviously don't like it when you do. :-). Here's hoping each day gets better and is less painful Susan

Cutie: As Denise said you've come to the right place. I don't post here much but read here everyday. It has really been a big help to me. For me living with the band is a way of life. Are you exercising and do you have a support system in place? You can do this, we all have faith in you but more importantly you have to have faith in yourself. Does your surgeons office have a support group? If they do get involved with the group. You need to live eat and sleep your band and this lifestle. Good Luck-we're all here if you need anything. Greetings: I've managed to lose 37 lbs since being banded on June 6th. However, I think my port tubing has detached from the band because I keep losing the fill after about 3-4 wks. when the doc tries to withdraw fluid, there's nothing there. So, he wants to go in to look at the tubing to see if it's disconnected. He said it's about a 10-15 min procedure under IV sedation. I'm happy with my weight loss so far. Good luck on your surgery Apples. Let me know the date and time, I'd like to keep you in my prayers that day. Strike: Good luck with the move, I've been following your job situation. Kathy: I have plenty rooms you can come paint for me!

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Wow, that's exciting. I remember when I finished everything and was waiting for my surgery date. I hope the time passess quickly for you. You'll do great and keep coming to the website, it's the best site I've come across. -
Hello: I am not trying to be obnoxious with this band and cc stuff but if your band holds up to 10 ccs of Fluid then you have a larger(longer) band. My band is only about 5.5 inches in length so it will only hold 4 cc of fluid. I have the lapband in. The other bands may be sized differently that I can't talk to. But, it doesn't make any difference how much your band holds, it's the result you get and you have all certainly gotten great results. Thanks for this website, it has certainly served me well and I love reading everyones stories and successes. Susan

My last straw was when the scale hit 250 lbs, & got type 2 diabetes. Had my surgery on June 6th 2008, lost 40 lbs so far and just 60 more to go! Love all your stories, thanks for sharing

Strike: God's Blessings to you on your move. I hope you sell your house really fast. You're going to do fine and yes, you will find a lot of new buddy bandsters. Susan

Greetings: I think I can clear up a misconception on this board. The band you have put in comes in different sizes(length) that are in centimeters (cm). I have a 10cm band that holds 4 cc of Fluid. My Dr. said the actual length of the band depends on how large your stomach is when he gets in the abdomin and has a chance to actually visualize your stomach. The longer the band is that they put in obviously will take more fluid to fill it. I hope this information helps as there seems to be some confusion as to why some people get larger fills then others. I'll never have more than 4 cc's in my band. Susan

Hey Kbug, how are you doing? How long has your mom been gone? It takes a long time to get over the kind of loss you had. Are you married? Have children? How's your grandfather doing? I had banding done on June 6th and have done well. I wish your mom could have had the same success. It's really unfair for something like that to happen to anyone, let alone your mom. You will be in my prayers and your papa.
Please write back and let me know how you are doing.
Peace,
Susan

I had my first NSV today. I am a hospice nurse and after seeing my patient I was walking in the hallway and the nurse came up to me and said, I did not recognize you from the back. I said, what do you mean, she said, your backside is really slimming down. It wasn't until you turned around that I recognized you. Needless to say, I was all smiles.

rash around incision sites??
livn4jesus replied to kgranite79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had a rash around my incisions for quite awhile and boy did it itch. I used triple antibiotic cream on them and it cleared it up right away. Sometimes a little skin infection develops, it's not anything to be concerned about. Just use the triple antibiotic cream and you should be ok. -
Marilyn: You are in my prayers and so is your husband. I know this not an easy time, but isn't wonderful to know the Lord? He already knows the outcome, so there is no need for you to worry about it(easy for me to say). Keep us informed on what's happening so we can support you through every step of your journey. God's Blessings, Susan

How much protein does the water have in it. When I had my surgery done in June I was sipping on a liquid protein I got at GNC. It has 30 gm of protein in 3 oz. So, I sipped on those over ice 3 times per day so I would get 90 gms of protein each day. I know everyone is different but if I don't get my protein I feel sluggish and tired. Are you taking your multivitamin? The vitamins and protein are so important.

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
livn4jesus replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hi Carol and welcome. I was banded on June 6 and have lost 38 lbs thus far. 16 lbs and I'll be in onederland which I haven't seen in a long time. This band has been the best thing in the world. I feel normal for the first time in my whole life. I have control over what I eat, when I eat and what I eat. I can actually sit with people who are eating and not need or want to eat, it just isn't interesting to me with the band. I thank God everyday he lead me in this direction. Lori: I am so happy for you. I broke down the other day and bought new dress pants. I was in a 22 and I bought 18's. Now, I will be thrilled when I go below the 18 as I don't think I've be below an 18 for probably 30 years. -
Has anyone taken legal action over punctured tubing
livn4jesus replied to luvmybully's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am so sorry to hear you are having the problems you're having. I don't get it. Why should you be charged for a malfunction. I can understand them charging a minimal amount but full price? I think my tubing has come off of my band as I now have no restriction. I'm hoping my insurance company will pay to have the tubing reattached. Good Luck and keep us informed. -
Have you had a leak in your port/tubing and had to have it replaced?
livn4jesus replied to DrewsLou's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I think I have a leak in my port tubing. Well, actually my Dr. thinks the tubing may have come off of the band. I can't believe they didn't make the tubing and the band on system. I have had 2 fills and now I don't have any restriction left. It takes about a month but it all leaks out. Oh well, just a minor bump in the road. This two shall pass -
When you say you get your fills at the hospital do you mean at his office or is it interventional radiology?

Will there be any other conferences for people on the East Coast? -
Cathy: Isn't being a grandmother just the best! Congrats on baby Lylah. My niece just had a baby and named her Lila also and she has a sister named Ella. I love that all the old names are starting to come back. Also glad to hear you're losing weight again. Take care, Susan
