Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot
livn4jesus replied to IndioGirl55's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Gosh, you are all still in my prayers. As for weight loss, I also will go a few weeks without losing and then drop 5-8 lbs. Since it's been six months, I am used to that kind of weight loss pattern. Since I had my surgery and 3 fills, I can honestly say, I don't crave food like I did before surgery as long as my band is tight enough. Let it losen up and it's a whole different story. When my band is tight, I have to remind myself to eat and I've noticed when my weight loss slows down, it's because I'm not eating enough. I eat what I want to, however, I try to make wise choices and when I do eat something like ice cream, it's once in awhile and not everyday like it used to be. I eat my protein first and all else seems to fall in place. I've said it before, I have been so Blessed with this whole process. Hugs to you all, Susan -

Long: I am soooooooooooooooo happy for you and your wt. loss. How exciting that must be. Hugs, Hugs, Hugs. I hope your tooth feels better real soon. Toy: I am glad you are feeling better, I've been holding you up in prayer. Katy: how are you feeling? Have you had your testing done yet? We all need to join together and hold you up to the Lord for healing.Only say the word Lord and I shall be healed, Amen. Melody: Wow what a weight loss, are you making sure you are getting in all the protein? I think that's what kept me from feeling weak. -

Toy: You are in my prayers. It sounds miserable. I was so Blessed with a very smooth and uneventful recovery. I am laying hands on you now and standing in the gap for you that Jesus will touch your body and take that nausea and vomiting away. Amen -
Let's see, what will tomorrow bring? 100 lbs lost for 3 very special people? Can't wait for your posts. You'll get there. I was just thinking about something. My grandfather always said that if you sit and watch water waiting for it to boil, it never will but as soon as you walk away, it starts to boil. Maybe, a day away from the scale, o never mind, it would probably put you all in the lunnie bin, you'd be having anxiety attacks, etc. So here's to tomorrow, that you all make it to 100

blklab70: Welcome to the board. We are all here to help you because we have all walked in your shoes. I remember my surgery day as well as I remember the births of my children. It was kind of a birth for me and the start of a new journey. God's blessings for a safe journey. -

OK, so here's a cool NSV. I walked into a meeting yesterday at work and I was greeted by someone with, "Well hello, slim". I stopped and looked around and my co-worker was laughing and she said, I'm talking to you. I want to go with you when you buy your bikini this summer slim. OMG, what a high that put me on. I just had to share. Thanks for all of your support and love to me on this site. Now, lets all go and seize the day! -

Yep, you are 100% on the mark, Indio-girl. Lizalee, make sure you are eating your protein. I'm telling you, that is what keeps me from being hungry, real or otherwise. Forget the cereal in the morning. Eat protein. I have a protein drink almost every morning. It's 110 calories, 4 gm of carbs and 17 gms or protein. Eat greek style yogurt, 17 grams of protein, eat cottage cheese, eat eggs. Stop eating bars, they trick us into thinking we're eating healthy when we're not, most of them have way to many calories and carbs. I also am not on a diet. I eat what I want but I am more discriminating as to what I choose to eat.Notice that I am in control of what I choose, not what my addiction chooses. Liza it's hard and it's a journey that you are not on alone. You have had an amazing weight loss thus far. Stop making excuses and eat protein first, vegies second, and lastly carbs. You can do it! I'll be praying for you to have the strength. -
Gosh, we are all doing really great! I think it's natural for the weight loss to slow but it is frustrating when it does. I am crawling right now with my weight loss, but I did finally make it to onederland as I told you all last week and now I'm sitting still. Well, let's all keep up the good work. I guess for me, I'm never going to change my eating lifestyle from what it is now, so I guess it doesn't matter how soon I get to my goal weight. Love you all, Susan

Welcome and congats to all the new bandsters, this is an awsome site. I was banded in june of 08 and I just hit Onderland, whoohoo! I sat at 203-205 for about 4 weeks and I finally moved off the 200 mark. I now have lost more than I need to lose. I would really love to be at goal by june, but, we'll see. I guess it doesn't make any difference when I get there, just that i do get there. -
I know what you guys mean. I hovered at 203-205 for like 4 wks. It was driving me crazy. I actually started about 2 weeks ago doing a dance class and I've really been trying to work with my diet. What I've noticed is, I have a tendency not to eat enough food. Once I bump it up, I start to lose weight again. So, this past week, I went all out to get in my protein so I could convince my body that I was indeed not STARVING so it could let go of the extra fat. I am pulling for you guys. Keep me posted on Onederland

Woohoo! A date! Definetly don't pb on the poor guy. My problem would be the noises I make when I eat. Sounds like I have some kind of monster in my esophogus and the burps, well, they're just the cats meow! LOL Anyway, have a great time and enjoy yourself

Apples: O, kidney stones are horrible and they tell me they are worse than any labor you could have. Plus you don't get a beautiful baby at the end all you get is a stone. I'm glad you're ok now.

Indiogirl: I am so sorry to hear that you are felling a little under the weather. Here's a big hug for you. You have been so supportive to people on this site. Have a happy new year.

livn4jesus replied to volcano lady's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Volcanolady: In addition to all the other advice you've gotten, make sure you are keeping yourself hydrated with your liquids because you can run a low grade fever if you get dehydrated. People don't just run a fever for no reason and please don't play around with the fever. If it does elevate please don't delay in getting medical treatment. Take Care, Susan -

Reportergirl: Listen to Indiogirl she knows what she is talking about and if anybody can help you get on track she will. She can kick butt but in a loving way. :-) Thanks Indiogirl, I love to read your posts. Happy New Year -
Yeah it is good to have gotten through the holiday and have lost 7 lbs. I went and got a fill on the 17th of December which really made me cut back on eating. I guess I cheated but hey isn't that what the band is for? anyhow, I met my cousin and two of her children for lunch today. When we arrived to the restaurant, my cousin said to her adult children. Susan doesn't order anything, she will have a tablespoon or piece of what each of us orders. She and I went on vacation together in August and we discovered that there really was enough for both of us, so we started ordering one meal and she would give a few morsels. It works really well. I pay for my drink. Just thought I'd share, maybe you had to be there! Apples, take me to Florida with you!!! My goal in about 10 years is to become a snowbird and go to Florida every winter and then come back in the spring. :-)

Happy New Year Junies: I weighed myself this morning and I weigh 202. Yikes, 2.5 lbs and I'll finally be in Onederland!!!! I've lost 7 lbs since 12/17. I was so concerned about the holidays. I ate some forbidden things but made sure I ate what I should be eating first and then if I wanted anything extra, I had it. But most of the time, I didn't want the junk food. Addy: Welcome, keep measuring and do a food journal so you know what you are eating. Our minds can play tricks on us and make something that is 16 oz look like it's 2 oz. Have you been to the website: The daily plate? you can keep track of your food on that site, it really helped me. Welcome Jenny, I am on this site several times/day but don't post to much. I do in spurts I guess. Any, keep hanging out with us you'll like this site. Strike: what about a pair black boots that come to just under the knee. I love that look and it never goes out of style. Just a thought
