Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

I think I had asked Katy (Helene) to ask someone from the family to post that she was ok. If she had surgery on Monday morning, and they had to open her abdomin up which I feel fairly certain they did, she could be in the Hospital for 3-4 days. I'm not looking to hear from her until the weekend at the earliest or maybe even next week. Soooo,I just keep holding her up before the Lord.Gosh, you guys are all so wonderful to care as deeply as you about someone we don't even know. Love each of you. Susan

    Daily News!

VZ, I've only lost 56lbs since my surgery in June and I am thrilled. It doesn't make any difference how fast you lose, just that you do. My weight is coming off very slowly now but that's ok, because I'm not changing anything about how I eat at a certain weight. You've had a wonderful weight loss. Good to hear from you

Cher: Be patient, you body is adjusting to all kinds of new things and life style changes. I feel restriction for the first few days and then all of a sudden i don't feel much restriction. As you lose weight your band will losen up as the layer of fat around your stomach disappears. just be sure you are eating hard Protein first and foremost. I find I lose more weight when I get my protein in daily. Good luck with your journey. Hang out here with us and you will learn alot and be helped along your journey. Susan

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

PJ: I take Zoloft and yes it does give me really severe pain if I don't take it with food. So, I take mine in the evening with activia yogurt. I put yogurt on the spoon, then put my pill in the yogurt and swollow. No more reflux. I wouldn't give up my Zoloft for all the rice in China. Lived with severe panic attacks and anxiety attacks for to long and I'm not going back there. Hope this helps

    Daily News!

I hate snow!!! Fortunately where I live in Maryland, we don't get a lot of snow. Like me I know you are all ready for the warm weather. I can't wait. There were quite a few of us who had birthdays in February. I hope everyone had a great birthday. Sounds like you all did. Cathy thanks for posting, I was concerned that maybe you had given up on all of us. I need a new kitchen also!! Maybe this year we'll do it after we get done with the master bath which is gutted right now. Take care all of you beautiful Junies~

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Wow, you guys have posted a lot! Unfortunately I've gotten involved with the facebook site which has kept me from coming to this site. Long, yes you are experiencing reflux. What you're having sounds fairly mild. I started about a month ago with some reflux which I've never had in my entire life. Finally realized it was my pills that were not sitting well in my baby tummy. So, now I take my pills with activia yogurt or I take them during the daytime when I know I'll be in an upright position. Orea is right, try elevating your head either with pillows or you could even put the head of your bed's legs on blocks to elevate your upper body. Phyll, where do you get all of your visuals? I love the one that is mooning. You are too cute. Joann, however, loves my butt, right Jo? Just kidding you guys. I love reading the posts and because you are all so well versed and have such good insite and advice, I don't usually have to post anything. Katy: I know the things your surgeon has told you is scarey, but know that they have to tell you everything that could happen and yes I am sure you are high risk, but know that God will be in the OR with you and guiding the surgeon. I'm holding you up in prayer and know that on the day of your surgery, I will be praying for you non=stop, if i can figure out the time difference between here and there. Love you all, Susan

Are you girls tired of looking at my butt? I guess I should change the picture, what ya think?
  20. livn4jesus

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Phyll-I changed my pic back to the one I use on LBT. I had posted my daughter's boxer, Buddy as my pic because we just had to have him put down last week and it was my tribute to my first grandson. Did you send me a friend request? Don't remember seeing one from you.

O my! Way to go, you look wonderful. How much have you lost?
  24. livn4jesus

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Jb: It is amazing how tight my band gets when I get upset. It's like it just shuts down! Katy: God Bless You and your GP. Lynn: I've heard that the more weight you lose the closer your port gets to the skins surface. In fact some people have had to have them reimplanted deeper in the muscle.
  25. livn4jesus

Hey 50 & over gang We have a new spot

Katy: I am a practicing nurse and the Dr. can't do nothing. First, you need to have the band removed or unfilled to see if it goes back into place. However, with the inflamation you have, it should propably come out. You need to be put on drugs like, Reglan, Prilosec, etc. to help reduce the inflamation. You should be sleeping in an elevated position and it would not hurt you to go on a clear liquid diet very similar to the one you were on immediately post-op from your band surgery. Small frequent sips of clear liquids. You have a lot of inflamation that needs time to resolve. Dont be surprised if the surgeon does not do any type of surgery until he gets the inflamation under control. You need to ask him soon, how he plans to handle all the inflamation. You are in my prayers but mostly I am praying for the Lord to guide this surgeon, he needs it. Blessings, Susan
