I am struggling to get my water in. And I know half the time I feel hunger it is probably thirst. I flavor it but that's not helping. Any other tips/tricks? Also, at 4 weeks out, it feels like I can drink a lot at once. Is that normal?

I've been eating regular food since 1 month postop. My surgeon progress his patients quickly. I haven't had any problems. Still waiting for a call back. Office staff says they doubt anything is stuck or I would be vomiting and wouldn't be able to eat or drink.

If something got stuck, how long till it moves along? Sleeved 3/30, on a regular diet for 2 weeks now. No problems with eating till today. I had thin sliced turkey luncheon meat heated in a pan and cheese for breakfast. When it was time to drink I started having pain. Then the pain just stayed. I had toast with PB for lunch. No pain while eating but pain with drinking afterward. Had thai shrimp salad for supper and had pain the entire time while eating. I'll call my surgeon tomorrow but just looking for opinions right now. Thanks!

A minimum of 30 minutes.

I took some before bed. I hope I wake up feeling like a new woman!

I have the same thing right now. It's annoying me. I can't wait till it goes away.

I think I'm the only person who doesn't like Quest bars. I've tried 4 flavors so far and only kinda liked one. But I still have 5 or so more flavors to try in the cabinet. Maybe I'll find a winner yet! Premier was ok but more sugar than I like. Atkins aren't bad.

You got this!! And we're all here for support!

I am 3 weeks out. My surgeon progresses his patients very quickly with eating. I did 4 days of clears then 4 days "squishy" and now I can have anything except red meat, fresh fruit & veggies and anything carbonated until my next appointment in one week. Everyone I know that had this done said they were not hungry and people eating in front of them didn't bother them. I've been hungry since 4 days postop. People eating bothers me. I've been very vigilant until today. My weight isn't dropping. I feel like I did this for nothing. And I ate chocolate today. Almost a whole Dove bunny. Am I some kind of freak and something is wrong with my sleeve? I'm in pain from a pinched nerve and super emotional today. I'm just looking for someone to tell me I'm not alone and it will be okay. I just want to be healthy and thin.

I'm sorry you're having such a hard time. I hope you find something that works for you!

Am I the only one who doesn't see one on a regular basis since having my surgery? I only had to see someone one time preop to get the insurance clearance. Just curious.

I've read you should drink 1/2 to 1 ounce of water for every pound you weigh. If you live somewhere hot or are very active, aim for the upper end. Drinking too much water can dilute the sodium in your body which can cause problems like nausea, confusion, headaches etc. Low sodium (hyponatremia) can be very serious.

That's a great idea! A lot of the drops and packets do taste horribly artificial. Brands I like before surgery I do not like at all now.

I too was sleeved 3/30/15. You are definitely not alone. I've been really emotional this week. Had a slip on Wednesday and ate chocolate. Got myself together again but everyday feels like a mental struggle. We can do this. One day at a time.

Out of all the Nectar flavors, fuzzy navel is my favorite. You can buy a sample pack that contains one of each flavor they make to try them all.

I drink the Premier protein drinks also and Nectar fuzzy navel protein powder.

I log everything in myfitnesspal. I usually eat breakfast, a midmorning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and dinner plus at least one protein shake. Just started a PPI on Monday. Was home sick today and just grazed all day. I had to talk to a nutritionist only once as part of my clearance. I do feel full when I eat meat or cheese. Today was definitely not my norm. Eating with people is unavoidable for me. I just feel let down because I thought at least some of the demons I battled before surgery were gone but every one still remains.

HAD SURGERY 3/31/15

I had mine on 3/30. I get to start squishy foods tomorrow. I thought I wasn't going to feel hungry but I did today and felt discouraged. -
I wasn't given one either and my date is 3/30. I'm just increasing my Protein and trying to limit my carbs. I got a good tip earlier to drink Water every time I feel hungry. My surgeon didn't even mention anything about fatty liver but I'm aware of it from my research.

@@BLERDgirl - Thanks for the tip. I'll start doing that tomorrow.

The only preop instructions my surgeon gave me in regards to eating before surgery is nothing after midnight the night before surgery. I've read about different preop diets either low carb or full liquid. Why such differences? Did anyone else not have to do a special preop diet? How did everything turn out?
