About Me
Oh dear...what to put here? I've tried what feels like every diet under the sun. With and without exercise. I'll lose some...and then gain it all back plus 10-20 extra pounds. Every. Single. Time. I used to be thin. And healthy. But I got depressed and turned to food and it was all down hill from there. Morbidly obese, PCOS, prediabetic, hypothyrodism, and way too many fasting blood tests later, my mom asked if I'd look into WLS with her. I was approved. She wasn't.
So I'm kinda going at this all alone. Small town means no WLS support group, and the group for the hospital I'm going to has it's meetings too close to the time I have to be at work means I found myself here. Original consult was February 23, 2015. I've had my x-ray (hernia. Woohoo! -.-) and am waiting for my nutritionist appointment in April, followed by a psych appointment in June. I go through the Carle foundation which pays for any and all medical everything done through Carle that my insurance won't cover, so no waiting there! Also get to skip 6 months of diet/weight checks because I had already been doing that monthly with my regular doctor before we broached the subject of surgery.
Weaning myself off of carbonated drinks, and then coffee (working night shift never seemed so difficult). Saving up for that gym membership to use after work. Trying to eat healthier while waiting for the April appointment.
Wish me luck!
