Anyone else having surgery on March 31?
-
I'm eating about 550 a day too. I cannot stomach protein shakes. Getting them near my nose makes me gag, although the Inspire brand seems to be better than others I've tried. I've lost 30 pounds, but seem to be at a complete stand still for now.

How often is everyone weighing now? I was weighing everyday, but now that my weight loss has slowed down a little, if it fluctuates up at all I panic!

????????Got surgery date????????

That's great news! Once you get a date, time flies! -
I have no energy! I keep thinking I'll wake up one morning just full of spit and vinegar, but no luck so far.

I'm feeling better. I slept on my side last night and woke up feeling like I had a hot poker in my stomach. Too soon for that, I guess :-/ Has anyone else found protein powder intolerable since surgery?

I spent an extra day in the hospital. I had a blood clot in my pouch and spent my first two days post op throwing up blood. They did an endoscopy and got it all cleaned up. Luckily there was no active bleed. I've been home for two days and I'm doing okay. There is no way I'm going to meet my protein goals in the liquid stage, so I'm just focusing on doing what I can and staying hydrated.

Gross topic, but I need to know

My doctor told me about Devrom. If you're not familiar with it, it's an internal deodorant that helps eliminate the smell. My surgery is still 12 days away, but I have stocked up! -
I'm more excited than nervous. I think I'm pretty ready. I'm sure the nerves will kick in.

Pre-op depression - normal?

I'm going through the same thing. I get moody and weepy. I'm in a constant state of PMS. For me, I feel like this is my last resort, so it feels like there's a lot riding on it. -
Telling people you've decided on WLS...
StenoChick replied to blashlee's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I'm two weeks away from my surgery date and only my husband and kids, my parents, and one of my siblings know. For me, it came down to recognizing that everyone was going to have an opinion about it, and really it wasn't any of their business. My mind was already made up. I made the mistake of telling a (slim) friend who then made a 2-hour round-trip to bring me a book about portion control because it helped her drop 10 pounds. That was when I decided that the people I decided to tell wouldn't need an explanation and the people I chose not to tell, wouldn't understand one if I gave it.
