Is there anyone who wants to be a buddy or a mentor? I am having my surgery on May 6th!!!

Hey guys!!! It is hard to believe that we are almost there. I was looking at my calendar last night and I was like holy crap there are like 4 1/2 weeks left before surgery. I just my bloodwork done and I have to redo some of them. I had blood in my urine and start Vitamin D. Since today was easter, I over indulged big time. It was kind of like a food funeral. So weird. I have found myself thinking of all the foods that I want to eat before I start my two week liquid diet prior to surgery. This is to shrink my live. I guess my clinic requires all their patient's to do this. So really it is 2 1/2 weeks before I start preparing for surgery. I still have to go to my pre op appointments. That includes the PA, nutritionist again, and an exercise guy. I have found myself being more motivated to get outside and going for walks. I took my poor little dog on a 2 hour hike yesterday and boy in my back and hips yelling at me today. Oh well. I was really talking to my dad about this whole surgery thing today and about my liquid diet and he was like you aren't even going to need surgery. At the end of your diet, you are going to weight 130 pounds. LOL, not quite dad... How are you guys doing? Are you getting prepared, nervous, scared, second thoughts?

Hi all. I am from the Kentwood/Caledonia area and going to Grand Health Partner's for my surgery. I just got my surgery date and that is May 6th at St. Mary's hospital. Anyone else around the grand rapids area?

I just found out today that my surgery has been approved. Looks like May 6th is the date.. It is hard to believe, I started this whole process 2 1/2 weeks ago and I already have a surgery date. I did not have to do a 6 month WL program. I am scared and worried that I am going to fail because I have failed so many other diets before. I have thought about this surgery for several years, but not seriously. I was talking to my friend, and I told her, maybe next year I will start looking into it and I thought why am I going to wait a year. So everything has happened so fast. I am very nervous and scared. I haven't seen any may 6th people, is there anyone out there?

I just scheduled my first initial appointment and it wasn't until April 17th. I did that yesterday. I call late this afternoon and found out that they have an appointment today at 3pm. I can't believe that this is happening soon fast. It is hard to wrap my brain around it.

Hi everyone- I am from the Grand Rapids area. I just went to my seminar and found out from my insurance will not require me to attend a 6 month medical weight loss program. I am going to grand health partners for my surgery. I am awaiting for my first appointment.
