    April 15th!

Anyone else have the same surgery date? I'd love to keep in touch if so. I'm having a million feelings all at once. Scared, nervous, but most of all READY to continue the changes I've already made for myself.

    Not telling anyone

I only told really close family. I don't think it's anyone's business but your own ❤️

How long was your pre-op diet?

My surgeon doesn't require a liquid diet at all. No real pre op diet at all actually. Obviously if you gain within the process he will stall surgery because the commitment doesn't seem there, but he recommends a low carb high protein diet but it's not a necessity.

    Energy!

One of the biggest things I'm looking forward to on my journey. I started my first DIY project and sanded an old desk to eventually paint it black. I can't get through painting it because between bending trying to get the corners and just going up and down a lot I get tired! It really shows me how my weight effects everyday tasks. Besides that I just overall feel so slothy at this weight. Just so heavy that I feel slow if that makes any sense lol. Can't WAIT to to get some of this weight off so that exercising isn't so hard.
  9. Hello all. My name is Tiffany. I'm 25 years old from western Massachusetts and mom to an amazing 9 1/2 month old son Dominic. (I'm so sorry if I'm doing this in the wrong place. Never posted in a forum like this) I have been obese as long as I can remember. It's really all I've known. Never being able to shop where my friends did, always feeling tired. Never good enough. In my own mind at least. I told myself when I was 18 that if I wasn't where I wanted to be with my health and weight loss by 25 I'd research weight loss surgery. After I had my son I realized this was what I had to do. I knew I wouldn't be able to keep up with him, and I needed to be healthy for him. I went to a seminar and that was it. This was for me. I was ready for a life changing experience. I met with my surgeon and we decided on the sleeve. My beginning weight was 315 with a BMI of 50.8 though I'm sure I'm up a couple pounds since then. I got the go ahead from my PCP, cleared by the nutritional and psychologist. Insurance was figured out. Support groups attended. Then, came and went my final apt with my surgeon. I didn't go. Didn't call. Started eating everything in site. I don't know why I was doing this to myself. I've been preparing and changing. A couple weeks after I missed my appointment I had enough. I couldn't keep living like this, so .. I made the call. Shelly (the receptionist) was so happy to hear from me. We scheduled another support group. My pre op EKG and appointment, and again my final apt with my surgeon on March 25th. I'll get my surgery date then. I feel so much better about it. There's my story. I'm hoping to find friends and allies who can understand all the emotions, and feelings I'm going through. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading! Look forward to knowing you all!

    Almost backed out.

Thank you. Hope your feeling well after surgery! I completely understand where you are coming from. I have been on this journey since October and finally got my surgery date. March 31st. It's coming up soon. I have had so many different emotions since I got the news I don't know what to do with myself. I keep telling myself you are going to do this and move on. Your not going to give up. But it is very intimidating. But at the end of the day I need this for myself. My starting weight was around 353. I am down around 327 right now. I can't wait to be on the other side of the circle. The losers circle. Lol. Good luck! You can do this! That's so soon! I'm so happy for you. I can't wait to find out my date!
