I get very weak and drained very early in my workouts. I am afraid it will lead to lightheadedness and passing out. i also get a weird fullness and gurgling while drinking Water to maintain hydration while exercising. Does anyone else experience this? It's a horrible feeling and hard to stay motivated when it doesn't feel good to begin with. What can I eat or drink prior to to keep me from going down! TIA!

Hi All. Starting soft solids today. I scrambled an egg and am just nibbling on it. My question is, how do I know what 'feeling full' feels like if I wasn't 'hungry' at the start of the meal? Any sensations you can describe for me? Just was to learn what I am looking for. TIA

How do I know when I am full?
jatmagg replied to jatmagg's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The problem is my program does not give amounts or measurements as guidelines. Simply eat small amounts of moist Protein for week three and learn how you stomach responds and learn to go slow and feel when you are 'done' Next week they want us to add soft/cooked veggies and fruits which I can not even fathom. I am just going to concentrate on protein until I'm ready -
How do I know when I am full?

Ok so how might I know I am full without getting slimies or foamies? -
Hey all! Haven't lost an oz in 5 days, only 9 lbs since surgery. Does this sound right? I am two weeks post op. My NUT started me on soft solid Protein only for this week. I only got in 35 grams of protein which is concerning to me. How can I get in more protein and start losing? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

5 days post op and I'm hungry!
jatmagg replied to turtle5569's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly it's probably the acid production you are feeling. I called and was told to take dry swallows to increase peristalsis and that I could try Mylanta. Haven't felt 'hungry' since. Make sure you are on a PPI Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Hi all. After waiting a year and seven months and a postponed April date, I am on the schedule for tomorrow morning and am beside myself. Mostly nervous as hell. My whole life is about to change and I know that even preparing for over a year and a half nothing can make me feel ready for what is about to happen. If anyone could send some words of advice and encouragement I would appreciate it. How were you able make it up to procedure time? Thank you in advance -

Sleeved 8/30 in Boston. I feel good almost like nothing ever happened and yesterday I started to feel what I think is hunger. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen!!! Could I be hungry? Feels it. Or maybe too much acid? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
Driving Home from Surgery?
jatmagg replied to Brenda Sherwood's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You shouldn't fly for 6 weeks due to the risk for blood clots and you should not drive after the procedure until you are off of pain med and have no abdominal tenderness that would delay your reaction time while driving. If you get a ride you should limit time in the car to 30 minutes at a time and get out to stretch, walk and get bliss circulating. Good luck! Where there is a will there is a way. I am sure someone would be happy to drive you and if not there is always uber! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App *blood circulating Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

My doc starts clears and full liquids after discharge once you have tolerated Clear Liquids in the hospital. Full liquid does include yogurt if its light or fat free Greek (higher protein), sugar free, well blended, smooth, with no fruit or bits in it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -
August 30 Sleevers Post Here!
jatmagg replied to NewAdventure2016's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi! I was sleeved on 8/30. Did well except for some postop reflux. Finishing postop day 5... Felt full this am, had 2 bouts of diarrhea none since this afternoon and was able to tolerate more clears and fulls. But I kind of feel hungry. Not sure if it's hunger or if it's acid. Anyone else feel this? I was expecting to never feel hungry again given the grehlin suppression. Anyone? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App -

Hi all! Haven't been on in a while in fact have been in denial that this is finally real. After 1 yr 9 mo of hang ups I am scheduled for my VSG on 8/30. Any suggestions on what to get, buy and stock up on for when I get home? I'd like to know your recommendations of Protein shakes, Vitamins and supplements. Any 'musts' on your shopping list? I look forward to hearing from you and am excited to have a forum of support. TIA Ty:)

Ladies come in re: period during surgery

Can you wear a tampon in the Operating Room? -
Hello all. I know THE BIG BOOK is highly recommended but I am not sure what surgery the docs will recommend for me yet so I wouldn't want to buy one and then have to buy another, I will purchase it once it comes down to it. I am looking for something for someone in the very beginning stages, awaiting evaluation and still considering. I'd like to gain some insight into what to expect and how to present myself to the physicians, dietitians and psychologists. Any recommendations you can make, I'd appreciate. Thank you in advance.

Hi all! This is my first post so I hope it goes ok. I am considering the gastric sleeve (I hope the doc agrees that is the best option for me). My first consultation is April 10th. I have been very apprehensive for about 10 years now and for the past couple of months I have been seriously contemplating going through with it. Should I??? I know the answer is yes. Nothing is ever going to get better for me if I don't take the chance. I am just so scared! I have never had general anesthesia before. Nor have I ever eaten in moderation except for the several failed diets I have tried but even then portions were generous. What was it that convinced you to go ahead with setting your surgery dates? I could certainly use the support! Thank you for listening!
