Well, to say the least I am unhappy. My depression has gone through the roof. I was 14 pounds of my goal weight and was feeling great. Now I have slipped over the last 6 months and have moved 36 away from my goal weight. I know when I get depressed, I drink more coffee with very little natural sugars. I can't find a meal plan that works and I don't feel full when I over eat. The only thing I dump with is sweets, except for gum balls. I want their to be a specific dietian that caters to Sleeve to RNY. Part of my surgical team is to meet with a nutritionist, I have done that twice and all get is hand outs. I want a shopping list, how to prepaid and nutritional values. Again feeling frustrated and giving up. Sorry but I needed to vent.

Gas X and walk, walk, walk

NP drains are no big deal. I had mine in for only 5 days. My surgeons stitched it in pretty good. I was worried that somehow I would pull it out. That was not the case. Everything went fine and I was glad I had it to drain my belly.

I need food ideas. Had RYN 7 weeks ago and am still clueless

Hello all, I am really at a loss. I have been drinking Protein drinks, tons of Water and eating yogurt. I don't know what to make when it's just for me. It's easier to cook for a larger group than just one very small meal. My family makes meals that include lots of Pasta, rice dishes and non-protein items. When I can't find what I need to eat, I snack small amounts. I need to make an individual shopping list but I need ideas to help me move forward. I am questioning myself on how I am going to do this for the rest of my life. Ideas? Thanks -
I am able to drink a small amount with fat free French vanilla creamer. If I drink more I start to get the dumping syndrome. My surgeon told me to wait a couple of weeks but with everything, introduce new items gradually and in moderation.

7weeks out, feeling down, weight stopped
patrickm613 posted a topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Well I am really feeling down and out. I am very stressed that my weight has completely stopped (and maybe gained). I have been fighting sugar and sweets. I try my best to stay away from most but when I do have a taste of something (cupcake icing) I feel like crap but then I do it again, and feel like crap all over. In addition, I am at a loss of what to eat. Everything I used to eat is on the prohibited list. I think that's why I snack on stuff I shouldn't (no Protein value). I just need something in my stomach. Every place I look I find foods that I can't eat b/c they have too much sugar, fat and or carbs are too high or it really will do nothing for me nutritionally. I continue to regret my decision to have the RNY conversion. I should have just left my sleeve alone and dealt with the acid reflux. Sorry to complain, just down. -
6 weeks out and still having regret...

Well, I keeping asking myself why did I do this? Did I give my sleeve enough of a chance? I was 28m out with my sleeve when I had my surgery in late Feb. Even though my major problem was corrected (acid reflux) with the conversion, I am disappointed. The first 5 weeks involved major pain (10+) due to the fact that I ripped up my internal sutures. So for the first 10-14 days, I was couch and bed bound. Surprise, surprise I developed bilateral pneumonia. I had a headache and major bed spins for 4 weeks. Then I developed influenza A and was hospitalized for a possible clot in my lung. No clot after being scanned and rescanned, thank God. But at that same time I was admitted back to the hospital for severe dehydration. As I return to my doctors office after 6 weeks, I have lost 14 pounds. My doctor tried to remind me that I lost over 90 with my sleeve and what we did with the conversion, it was mainly to correct the GERD issue. Weight loss was secondary. He said the weight will come off, just at a different weight. Frustrated. -
Finally learning what the dumping syndrome feels like
patrickm613 posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Over the last six weeks it was hard for me to determine what the signs and symptom of my dumping syndrome are. I did realize when I over ate my pouch, I would get sick and vomit. I was unable to able to define what I was feeling when I ate/drank sweets for example. I was able to drink a venti Starbucks drink without issue. I didn't realize the shaking and feeling of low blood sugar over the next hour or so was my body reacting in a negative way to the sugars in the drink. I also just felt sick and I thought I just needed to eat something to equalize out my low blood sugar. I would also shake like I was freezing. Not so. It's hard to believe it took me 6 weeks that I am finally listing to my body. I was looking for the burning bush. I wanted the hard, physical symptoms what I witnessed from videos online. I thought I would have the clutching my chest in pain. This is not happening for meI guess everyone is different. -
