Im so excited for you have you started the pre op liquid diet? You can do this!!
-
Hi my Utah friends how is everybody? I'm doing well I'm a month out and down 32 pounds. I am looking for a fitness trainer in my area and not having very good luck any suggestions? I'm feeling very good except I still get tired by later in the day and it seams like I tire quicker. I am healing well. I have been walking some but should be walking more. Still have to really concentrate on getting all my water in. Doing better than I expected I would do with remembering to take my vitamins. Excited to hear about how your journeys are so far.

I have been waiting for the dietician to contact me I put a call in to her Friday and now its Wednesday and I haven't heard anything. I wanted to have my Surgery April 2015 during Spring break but the approval process took too long and I had to push it til June to work with my schedule. I hope you have better luck.

I measure and weigh in on Sunday's and I was really upset that I only lost 1 lb this week. My total loss since beginning preop liquid diet is 30 lbs. so we are about the same. So maybe we are on track. I don't know.

ISO pure is good. I use it and premier mostly premier because I don't have to mix it. Surprised it's giving you troubles. good luck!!

I feel like I am doing very good. Dr. was happy at my post op follow up. Got to start eating more foods. I feel like I was one of the lucky ones sometimes because of my very quick recovery from surgery. How has your recovery been? I do tend to get tired a lot still during the day. The dietitian at the office is only available Tuesday-Thursday I have a call into her. I am concerned about me calorie intake and would like to know what I am suppose to be doing. I haven't been to impressed by the office. This is all new to me and it is everyday to them. But I don't have any real complaints. My Dr. was also sleeved and the little time I have spend with him has been informative. Really glad that he comes to Roosevelt for follow up appointments. Helps to not have to have to take off as much work. Where are you in Utah? Tell me about your journey this far.

When does the tiredness end?
tacha22001 replied to DojiGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I asked the doctor at my follow-up appointment and he said about three months of tiredness before we feel like we get back to normal. He was also sleeved. -
I get them all the time too. Is it because I'm eating too fast?
-
So went to my follow up appt and he was fine with me eating eggs and beans. My family decided to take me to lunch after my appt since I graduated to real food. I had a cottage cheese and tomato salad. Oh that red delicious wonderful fruit how I miss it. Tomatoes I love them and am so happy to be able to eat them again.

I am 12 days out and my follow up doctors appointment is tomorrow where I get released to have soft foods. For dinner tonight we had breakfast. I scrambled an egg put a little bit of cheese, salsa and sour cream on it and it was delicious. I did have a little pain warning me I was full after 3 bites. My daughter tasted it after I push my plate away and loved it. Hope I don't get in trouble for that tomorrow.

When does the tiredness end?
tacha22001 replied to DojiGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am nine days post op. I was tired 1st couple days of liquid diet. I can defiantly tell when I am not getting my protein. Same with after surgery. Protein 1st is no joke. I get tired if I over exert. Been trying to take it easy but not stay in bed. I get up and walk and have been to work and shopping. Keep thinking object at rest stays at rest object active stays active. I feel like it is important to stay Moving want to avoid blood clots. Feel that staying Mildly active is helping me heal faster. -
Intubation and Drain Tubes
tacha22001 replied to GirlOnFire's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I woke up from surgery with a drainage tube. I was not impressed at 1st. Then decided I would much rather have the liquid out of my body than trapped inside. It was coming out of my body and kinda hung at my hip and kind of looked like a grenade with light red liquid in it. Not as gross as it sounds. Nurses would empty the grenade as needed. It quit filling up after a day and they removed it before I came home. It didn't hurt when it was removed my Mom (a Nurse) was there and told me to take a deep breath while the nurse pulled it out. It was over before I even finished filling my lungs. No big deal. -

tacha22001 replied to ashley126's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
9 days post op feeling great. My incisions itch like crazy. I have a feeling this is a good thing and it means that are healing but home its temporary. Anyone else itchy? Feel very lucky I stayed 2 days at hospital was nauseated and vomiting when I woke up from surgery. I was up and walking. Came home off meds right away walked at home. Restless feeling well enough to go to the movie day 4. Went to work 2 days (day5) after arriving home. Secretary position didn't over exert. But got tired late in day. Just rested and didn't work as long next 3 days. Trying to remain active and out of bed. Resting when needed but not bed ridden. Healing process seems to be going faster. -
Coconut Oil Post Surgery?
tacha22001 replied to Cutwater's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have heard about people using coconut oil but did not know how I would react so I am also curious how we would use it. I also have a bunch of do terra I'd like to use to if anybody has any suggestions on how to use it with our new diet and lifestyle. -
It seems as though it takes me forever to drink water but I just keep on sipping. I end up drinking more and more every day.

Day 12 of the Liquid pre surgery diet for me. Day 1 and some of 2 were the worst for me, as well, Now I'm Doing well. I went to the movies over the weekend the smell of popcorn bout killed me I so wanted to munch on some. But I was strong I am so proud of myself. Usually at the movies we get the large popcorn and drink plus milk duds and other yummy snacks. I went with my daughter and Husband and supporting me(and because I threatened them not to J/K!) they didn't get any either. I sat thru the whole show and sipped on water go me!!! After Surgery and recovery my daughter can get a small popcorn and drink and I can have a few pieces of hers. She said she would share. What a sweet girl! Surgery is Thursday the 25th. getting excited. Not Scared Just Ready. -
Day 11 of Pre Op Diet
tacha22001 replied to nikkimapr's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on day 8 of preop diet and no it hasn't been too horrible. I miss chewing and really feel like biting into something. I have found that I love Knorr's tomato broth with chicken flavoring and can't wait to be able to add vegetables and meat to it to make a soup. It really helped me curve my craving for something NOT Sweet. Jello, popsicles, and protein shakes are all sweet. I felt like I was too sweet .LOL. Luckily I was only really tired the 1st day of the diet. I have had a hard time remembering to drink water tho. I am working on that today. Surgery Date in 6/25. I am a little nervous but mostly I am just ready to get this show on the road get thru surgery and recovery and start life as the new me! -
Just recently quit smokung
tacha22001 replied to perk4756's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I quit smoking COLD TURKEY 3/9/13 It was soo Hard but I did it. I am hoping I have as much or better success with my food addiction and weight loss journey. The last 50 lbs I gained was due to quitting smoking. I am lucky to have such a great support group and all of you to lean on. There have been times that I finish a meal or get stressed that I think Okay time to go out and have a cigarette and then I remember silly girl you don't smoke anymore. -
I have been using a cpap for a little over a year now. I do like it because I am getting better rest I have the nasal mask. They started me with the nasal pillow and I hated them I was always awake readjusting those little buggers. My husband and Daughter also have machines My daughter has had hers the longest she has had some sort of sleep apnea machine since she was 3 and she is going on 13 they prefer the full masks. I was too claustrophobic to cover both my mouth and nose. Surgery is scheduled for 6/25/15 and my DR. said that it would be a great idea to have sleep testing redone at 9 months post surgery. I think it would be great not to have to use the machine anymore but since it does help me now I don't mind it.

Overnight bag? What did you pack?
tacha22001 replied to MissLiss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Just wondering why the long hospital stay? -
I am having issues with the assistant insurance coordinator. I went in for my initial consultation 1/22 after that appointment it felt like I was bombarded with emails from the nutritionist, insurance, test results ect. It was great. I turned in all documentation, took my psychological evaluation and everything by 2/5 and today is 3/13 and they still haven't sent in for insurance approval. What is the deal? I have done everything. Why are they not submitting the info. Is there a process that I am unaware of? I called and have been calling for weekly status updates. I have been told I have everything turned in and when they submit it to insurance they will email me. Last week I called and was told this is elective surgery (like I am not aware) and they have like 50 files ahead of mine. This week I called and left a message and no one returned my call. So I called back and the receptionist was told by the assistant insurance coordinator that the insurance coordinator had my file and was working on it. The receptionist relayed the message to me. I can't believe they would not take my call. It's not like I have been calling them daily I have called every week for the past 3 weeks. I am hoping to have surgery while my daughter is out of school for spring break. The 2nd week of April. I live out of town and that is when would work best for my family. Now if I can get the clinic, Dr's and insurance coordinator on board. Am I expecting too much? How long has this process been for others?
