Poopsie-Congrats, I know the feeling-I also was approved in 3 days by UHC!!!! I was just calling to make sure they had received the paperwork & "they" told me my surgery date!!

Congrats Dave! I know that fresh Hawaiian air really helps too. Been to Kauai 3 years in a row and trust me, I know if I were 100lbs lighter when I was there I would have been a maniac!!!!

I just joined LA Fitness and my goal is to workout M-W-F & 1 day over the weekend. My husband has joined with me and is a great motivator. So far, got 1 workout in-I'm about 3 behind, but hey it was a busy 4 days. I will get back on track this week. I usually like to do 2 miles on the treadmill & a rep of weights mostly focusing on my "thunder thighs"!

Hi Shortgal, just wondering-what is your height ? I'm 5'1-1/2 & my goal weight is 140 and that is still considered a lot for my height but I love how I looked at that size.

ChaCa-You're right on target for the approval process. You and I will be February bandsters together. It will be here before we know it! Hang in there and enjoy knowing that one day you will be on your way to a healthier(& smaller) you!

Hi Nazzy-My surgery is 2/11/08-After researching the lap band on my own for about 2 years I simply called the Bariatric center and scheduled an appt with the surgeon. I was told I needed to get a "letter of necessity" from my primary Dr. and progress notes showing my weight for the last 5 years. This was submitted to my insurance co UHC on a Monday and I was approved for surgery 3 days later. It all depends on your insurance carrier as to how fast the process will go I assume. I hope your process goes well. Keep us informed.

Hi all fellow February lapbanders!!! My surgery is scheduled for 2/11/08 7:30am. Yes, seems so far away but will be here b4 we know it. My story(short & sweet version) is I was never overweight as a child or teenager but after I had my first son at age of 20 the saga began. I have 3 wonderful sons & with each pregnancy I gained less & less baby weight but it was the in-between weight that got me. No excuses now, my oldest is 20 & youngest is 11-can't blame it on the babies!!!!!!LOL. Tried almost every diet plan known to man but never found one that stuck. Always gave up after the first couple of months or just gained the weight back. I have researched the band for nearly 2 years so feel very confident in my decision to do it. I was approved in 2 days by UHC. I know that was fast. Very grateful for that. 2008 will be the year for all of us!!!!!

Hi Cindy, My surgery is 4 days after yours. I've had 2nd, 3rd and even 4th thoughts-lol. But now all i feel is excitement. i know it will be hard at times but i'm sure in the end it will be worth it. We can do it!

Hello, My surgery date has been set for 2/11/08...seems like forever but i'm sure it'll be here b4 i know. Approval was fairly easy insurance approved in 3 days--haven't had any pre-op testing yet-all scheduled for this month and January--can't wait to start this new adventure !!!!!!! Scared and excited all rolled up in one-:clap2:
