    Having a hard time

Every one that has responded is right on the money. After surgery it's one day at a time but each of these days gets us closer to the goal line. For myself I have a horrible habit of TOO MUCH in my mouth so not only sip sip sip but until you can handle more SMALL SIPS… cause I do not have to tell you…it hurts. Hope your already feeling the excitement of a new day for yourself.
  2. Great account, that picture says it all…living the dream, I could smell the tropical air. Thank you so much for sharing!
  3. T I'll see you on the 16th with our nut (Jennifer) plus before that with follow up visit to Dr. Brown. While we wait we can go share a Water. Monument isn't close but I can drive if you need a visit before then? Hang in there girl, sometimes crying is a good thing. PMJ

    Hi everyone

It's a hurtle, with each new day just make sure your adding so that you will meet the goal. Plus, I found if I go the bottle goes. Just keep it by your side at all times, then you can just sip away. 2 days ahead of you…you got this.
  6. Do not strain your body to pass gas puts a lot of pressure on your stomach. This became my habit…would walk around house or outside then sit on toilet, it's the possition that helped me, put your hands down by your sides and lift your feet off ground a little. Actually, that is the proper way to poop as taught by a therapist in hospital my mom was in. There are so many great references here, see what is recomended for constipation, Had mine 4/3 and was able to pass a few little pebbles and it helped a lot. Hope you see some progress. keep us posted
  7. Seahawk, She is just afraid for you, she will come around and give you the support you need. Do you have family, or a nieghbor or a local friend that can keep an eye on you for the first or second day. I live by myself also, the best advice I read from a thread was to buy a heating pad," got one from Walmart…I LOVE IT..was very comforting. Also had small "wedge" that I placed under my pillow, worked well for me only 7 inches high. Post op from 4/3 could not have had a better experience. Gas pain hits my collar bones like they were going to crack…but already passing (no pun intended). This website was my only connection to prepare myself and help with any fears I had. The people that I did tell really didn't want me to do it because they were scarred for me. But I am still here and they all survived. Since you might be alone just make sure you have everything ready to go before hand; vitamins(chewable makes it easy), Protein drinks (make one, day you go for surgery),Water,or flavor water, drink bottles to put your drinks in, kleenex what ever you need to keep you prepared and comfortable…remember walking is "king" so you can walk to everything you have waiting for you. Best to you and keep us posted

    Any Colorado sleevers?

Had the procedure Friday afternoon and really can not say enough good things about Dr. Brown and his team. With all the feed back from every one at BP's I was prepared for the worst and very happy to deal with the best. Just figuring out how to get all my Vitamins and fluids in. Whats really odd is Water is now the most appealing of all drinks…go figure. Hope your healing continues, if your going to nutrition meeting on April 17th, I will see you then. PMJ

    Any Colorado sleevers?

Monument here. Was starting to wonder if I was the only Co. on BP's. Wish I could help with referrals but my Dr. is in Denver/Parker. Having my sleeve done this friday at Parker Adventist. Not a runner per say but if you ever feel like "the Incline" I'm with you. They did a great job cleaning it up. Feel free to contact me to talk, questions or plan some thing. Hope things go better for all of us. Have downed more Water these last few weeks then probably the last 12 yrs. I have lived here….HA Thanks everyone

    Great news with a rant

WOW…don't sweat the small/big stuff! So much for us to learns from everyones thread. You had some good reflection …so don't take the bait. Other wise we'll end up getting shut down by "the man"

    What are your reasons?

Joint pain getting worse but mostly I would like to stop the battle, every day I wake up and start the losing cycle of food. Look foreward to finally see food as nothing more than food to help keep me alive. Get back into a swim suit…I love swimming. Air plain seat a definite, they seem to just keep getting smaller …no really it's not just my body getting bigger Think all these tools are good to have to help us stay on track and fall back on if need be. We are almost there!
  13. gwunderle is absolutely right. Either way you turn it will be work, Where I am right now in my life, it is just as miserable as the fear I have of all these things that could happen. You started this journey for a simple reason, to make a perminant change to your health, size and life. Your hair may only fall out a little or not at all and if it does fall out, with in months you will have beautiful healthy hair grow in. I'm figuring 6mos.(hopefully less) that we get our rythem going…living like before just minus all the EXTRA eatting we all have been doing. More active …enjoying life. When you get scared definitely talk to some one or come here and express yourself or read some stories of others path. Plus, if you can do this pre-op stuff …your amazing! (Lucky here, only have 3 days). Best to you, hope to hear some up dates

SERIOUSLY? REALLY? YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!

Thanks for a good little chuckle….with out hurting everyone's feeling why don't we all have a snickers bar.. Okay since that would probably start a riot I will have one for all of us. (PreOp broth doesn't begin for 6days) Please look up at the sky tonight…and take a very deep breath
  15. You are a brave woman; If you and your husband can complete the trip ... you are my hero! Sorry you have so many hurtles. Helps when you can get feed back from first handers. But you know when to say uncle and head for help. Just think next year this time you two will be like …"what the hell were we thinking"? Enjoying the laugh and the new you. Keep in touch Congratulations…you did it!

SERIOUSLY? REALLY? YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!

    Nausea Anxiety Depression insomnia

I think I am starting to stress over the vitamins. Is that going well for everyone? Date is 4/2 one minute I think I've got it next minute I'm scared.
  19. Good Morning …and Thank you for the little chuckle. I have got to learn to be computer literate…I missed the whole debacle between FB and BP. Yes, it is a very stressful time but thats the beauty/saving grace of all this. No one here regardless of their comments …edgy or soft wishes anyone ill. That I feel to be true. Why waist energy on having hurt feeling when... whether you like it or not we are the "BARIATRIC PALS!" Plus if I am to get upset I will never get….. 64OZ of FRIGG'IN WATER DOWN…is this every day for the rest of my life ? Or just the first few months. Now this is some thing to get emotional about. Good Morning...
  20. Either way you decide girl, it will all require effort. There is no path of least resistance. What is nice to know is "the sleeve" will be available and so will this sight to welcome you with good heart, if you should ever change your direction. Life is to short…so get living. Best to you
  21. Can not offer any helpful information but would very much appreciate if you would keep us posted. Stay strong. - pmj
  22. Every "hiccup" you have can save me and someone else some trouble so not falling on blind eyes, please share away. pmj
  23. Hey there ... Let's go through it together!!! I'm currently on a liquid diet and I'm just beside myself, I'm constantly hungry... I don't understand the two week liquid thing, I'm obese but not seriously obese.. 222 as of this morning and I'm 5'6. The nurse doing my endoscopy last week said I don't look big enough to be having this surgery... ???? I'm just agrevated and in a bad mood.... Hungry.. ???????? Some of that response could also be they think or associate this proceedure with extremely large people, 600lbs from many of the shows on TV. For my self I have always felt like the"lost zone"to big for "normal" not big enough for "super size". Not understanding that I would like to live a life food free. …….Eating to live not living to eat……if this was easy every one would be doing it. So cheers to you, we are almost there!

    Any regrets?

Hi P,L & S... So sorry you have to suffer! How did the kink occur ? Did DR. work to quickly? What is to be done to get you up and moving.
  25. Thanks for getting "April Sleever's" started. The 3rd is my day. Am very greatful for this site. Love reading about everyone's path. Has helped calm me when I start to scared. Excited with anticipation. I'm not really telling people until after so I do not get the "pooh pooh….just go to the gym and stop eating" gee, why didn't I think of trying that. So, thanks for being out there and keep it coming because I appreasiate it all.
