    6-7months post op

So all you eat is meat & dairy?
  3. I have had complete confidence in this whole procedure & all the experiences of others I have read. I am 2 weeks out today, and weighed today for first time since surgery. Down 10 lbs.....really?? Very disappointed. I know with any other "diet" in the past I would have been very happy with this, I guess my expectations were a lot higher. A yogurt fast for 3 days and only liquids for 2 weeks and ten lbs is it?? Makes me concerned I have done this and will not be able to lose. Has any one else gotten this slow of start and still had a good overall loss? I have read with most people their biggest loss is the first month and then tapers off to steady. If this is my "big loss" , I'm in trouble.
  4. I'm sure you be a lot better by Tuesday. I had a bad cold when I had mine, felt awful, congested, body ache. I did fine. I think the antibiotics they give after surgery helped me get over it a lot faster.
  5. I used Dr Jaime ponce DE Leon. I was very satisfied
  6. I have been doing same thing... Getting the 9 pm munchies. But then I realize it has been 3 hrs since I ate, so I eat. Usually cheese stick. And I really try to think about it & ask myself is your stomach hungry or is your brain?
  7. I'm only 3 weeks out, and had to give myself a big brain adjustment. I'm now really looking at the positive things... Food doesn't control me. It's so wonderful, I feel like I am in charge. It's empowering. I really really enjoy the food I do eat... So I'm not being deprived. I've actually really enjoyed the liquid & soft stage, ate lots of soups I wouldn't have normally & they were good. I'm eating foods that I never got to eat on my super restrictive crash diets!
  8. Thanks so much, your words really helped. Have been used to so many failures... Just keep looking ahead. At first I was wishing I could just fast forward 6 months, but I'm thinking now I want to enjoy the journey!
  9. @@athena3127 I'm going to start eating fish & shrimp, haven't for years. If I can tolerate it I think I'm going to need the protein source
  10. I hear ppl talk about that, but don't understand what it is. Would like to know in case I experience it. Also what is dumping?
  11. And I have some Carmel protein bars from my slim4life days... I can't wait to get to eat them again! They are pretty soft and chewy... And really good.
  12. I'm a vegetarian also, and just started my soft stage. I definitely have to supplement the protein.. I do so with genepro protein. Dissolves in anything. I'm going to start soft tofu, blended legumes, eggs, fish, special k protein cereal softened with almond milk. I. Also going to try green smoothies with protein powder. Also veggie burgers if I chew them up real good. Also soft cheese

    Weird body shape

I can't say as far as the surgery... I'm only 2 weeks out. But I've gained & lost a lot of weight several times over! Each time I remember it coming off differently, but always as I got to lowest weight it even out

    Sleeve and MS

I have MS and had my sleeve the end of March. It hasn't affected anything or increased my symptoms. I'm hoping it will help long term.... My biggest symptoms are muscle weakness & fatigue.. How could these not be helped by not carrying around 80 extra lbs? I did notice the first week I was WAY more tired than usual, and weak. Better now that I'm on soft foods.
  16. @@AlanaRN oh that's awesome. Mind me asking what your surgery weight was, and your age? My goal is 100 lbs
  17. I'm at 2 weeks and still feel swollen. For as little as I'm eating now , should feel flat! But it's underwent quite a trauma...I also can't wear my jeans yet, bothers incision site and feels tight
  18. You don't think it is?? I guess im being unrealistic . I was just thinking if this is the big loss period, and I did ten, what will it be later? Pound a week???

    Baked Potato Soup from

I can't believe you lost 29 lbs in 13 days!! Unless this included your pre op diet. I'm so mad at myself for not weighing on my scale right before my surgery. So I don't know exactly what I've lost. I think 10 lbs, I'm 9 days out.

    Genepro Users-check this out.

I was so concerned when I read this, cause I rely so heavily on genepro for my protein. I ran across this on a body building blog, seemed to answer things for me... Genepro - highest rated protein on the planet LARGEbagFrontWEB.jpgHey there guys. I am the Doctor/Genetic Bio-Scientist that invented Genepro and am the owner of Musclegen Research. Serving size is 1 Tablespoon = 30g of protein.. Here is a little about the product and the difference between Genepro and any other protein on the market. We are working with bodybuilding.com to carry Genepro as well as out other products.. What makes Genepro so unique is that we are able to reduce the protein molecule to half the size of normal protein through a process called Electrophoresis. This is a reverse electrical polarity method of extracting pure protein. In essence we take protein molecules that, for reference, are the size of a baseball. We push these baseball sized protein molecules through a Polyacrylamide gel (the gel stays below 87 degrees F) and introduce electricity through the gel. This process removes hydrogen ions, allergens and any fillers or binders so we are able to then bind the protein with a strand of six amino acids called a Hexapeptide which stabilizes the molecular structure. This hexapeptide increases shelf life of the protein as well as balancing the bitter taste that is present with the protein after electrophoresis and actually gives the protein a slightly sweet undertone. The protein is pushed through a filtration system and into a centrifuge which results in a pure protein molecule that is now the size of a golf ball (for reference). You may not be able to fit 30 baseballs into a shoe box but you can fit 30 golf balls. Thus giving us the ability to get 30grams of protein in a 1TBS serving size. This process also changes the caloritic count as well to 3.2 calories per gram of protein. The process as well at the hexapeptide are patent pending and have never been used before in nutrition (it's a genetic process that is used primarily in forensic science). The other interesting fact is that most protein supplements digest in the lower GI and whey is absorbed at only 31% so if you're "taking" 30g of whey, your body is only taking in 9g. Genepro is digested in the upper GI which eliminates gluten, lactose and bowel sensitivity and absorbs at a rate of 94% which makes it 3 times more effective than any other protein on the planet (medical or open market). Flavorless and odorless and can be mixed instantly in any food or beverage (hot or cold) without changing the taste or consistency. Truly the most complex and advanced protein on the planet. Each 1pound container comes with 3 empty, re-useable travel pouches that make it super convenient to use anytime, anywhere and in anything

    Protein

I also use this powder, I didn't know I could add it to yogurt I thought it had to be dissolved into a liquid. Thanks for the tip! I put it in my refried Beans with melted cheese today. Yum!

    Protein

I love genepro protein powder. It's tasteless, dissolves in anything. 1 small scoop is 30 grams. I just dissolve 2 a day in anything I'm drinking or eating. Soup, juice, yogurt.... There is no way I could get my protein with out it. I despise protein drinks & the fake sweeteners give me headache.
  23. I have been doing great, moved on to full liquids today. I thought a tablespoon of peanut butter would be OK.... Wrong. It made me so nauseated, and I threw up bout an hour later . I'm scared cause I threw up, would that damage my stomach?? It is sore now
  24. I have done great so far. Had long flights home after surgery & tolerated them well. But today I feel so weak, run down & tired. Very lethargic. Been napping all day. Just kinda hit me today. I'm getting in my juices, water & broth. I hope this is just tiredness from all I been thru. Does this stay this way for awhile, or should I expect weakness for awhile?
