Just got my Date June 10th! So excited!

I'm in Michigan too, Not sure of surgery date yet, all pre-op requirements are done. I meet with my Surgeon Next Thursday the 14th to hopefully get a date! I will be going through Beaumont in Royal Oak.

HI, I have BCN of Michigan but the guidelines are the same. If you have a BMI of over 50, which I did too, they waive the 6 month supervised diet. You will just have to do the initial blood tests, Psych eval, Dietician and excercise pysiologist and meet with the MD and Surgeon. I am going through Beaumont Weight Control Center, the process is moving along pretty fast. The information seminar will help explain everythign. Good Luck

I also have BCN Michigan, I was hoping the approval would be shorter My BMI is over 50 I wonder if the approval will be any quicker. Did they Schedule your surgery before getting the approval?They will be submitting my paperwork next week.

I know this was last year but di your approval go pretty quick? I have finished all Pre-op requirements and will be ready for them to submit for insurance, I also am in Michgan and going through RO beaumont.

I am in MIchigan also, I have BCN and my BMI was over 50 as well, the MD at Beaumont said that I would be fast tracked due to no other health issues. She said by my next appointment I would need to lose 1-2 pounds. From my understanding they use the first appointment weight to submit to insurance. I would call the office back to double check

Thats so exciting, I go for my next round of appointments on April 6th and 8th at Royal Oak Beaumont. Only 2 weeks after tmy intial consult appointments and tests. Hopefully I will get scheduled with the surgeon and they will submit to insurance.

How was the process for you, I have had my first round of appointments and My BMI is over 50 which is waiving the 6 month of diet. How fast did the process go for you?

I feel the same way! I gained weight to avoid the 6 month supervised diet because I was close to a 50BMI and at 50 or over my insurance waives those requirments. My clothes don't fit it is hard to put on shoes and just move in gerneral. They are fast tracking me but it still feels like this is taking forever.

I also am not sure of my date yet. The waiting game is terrible, I feel I have so many questions on the process. I have completed my initial consult with labs, psycholigist and testing, dietician and the MD of the program, as well as the excercise doc. My BMI is over 50 so my insurance waives the 6 month supervised doc appts(BCN of Michigan). They are fast tracking me since I have no other issues besides my weight at this point. Instead of a month in between appointments, I go back in two and a half weeks to meet with the Psychologist, Dietician and MD again and also complete the Body Comp Scan. The doctor is not ordering any other medical screening. I think after this appointment I will meet with the surgeon and have papers submitted to insurance. I am hoping for a Surgery date of sometime at the end of April. Am I correct in the process so far?

I am going for all of my appointments in one day for a 5hr span. My BMi is just over 5o and I have BCN of michigan, It will waive the 6 month supervised diet due to BMI, How quickly does the process move after this?
