Have you called them? You should call and make sure they have everything they need to process and how long it usually takes for review. ????

2 Days, but they mailed out the approval instead of calling so I didn't know until the 5th day!

Now we are surgery buddies! My surgery is 9/29 also... I so impatient! I hope these last few weeks fly by!! Ugh!! ????????

Just talked with HR to start the leave/FMLA process... Fun!! How long is everyone planning on taking off? I am planning on 4 weeks, but might take longer depending on how I feel. I am a nurse and my 12 hour night shifts are hard! I do a lot of lifting, pulling, standing, walking. Also no time to drink Water or pee for extended times... ???????? One more question- what is everyone telling people? Are you open about the surgery or not? I don't want to tell many people. So far my husband, sister (who had a sleeve done 3 months ago), my dad and possibly my brother if he heard from my mom. I didn't tell him directly. I don't want to discuss it at work at all- I am concerned about judgements.. ???????? I don't know what I will do if people start asking me about what surgery or why I am becoming super skinny! ????????

I am an hour early for my final weigh in at my surgeon's office!! All my other requirements are complete so after this they can submit for approval!! I have a BCBS plan so I am hoping for fast approval like some of the stories I read on here!! I will be calling to follow up regularly until I get approval!!!! I will browse the forums to help pass the time until appointment! It seems like forever!!! ????????????

I have my approval!! It was way easier than I anticipated! It was approved on 8/24, but just relieved the letter in the mail today!! ???????????????????????????? Super excited and a little nervous!!

I received an approval letter today, but it lists 8/24/2016 as the anticipated date of service like the rep in the phone told me on Friday. I am not exactly sure what this means-- so yeah for approval, but might need more paperwork to change the date? I still think this is good news! ** the date issue has been corrected! All good to go- now just to wait!! Ugh!

A received a phone call today, but I couldn't answer it at the time. She left a voicemail that just said she was a Nurse Health Coach from my insurance company and that she wanted to talk about my health. I tried to call her back but got her VM and it was almost 5pm so I will have to wait to talk to her til tomorrow. I assume it has to do with my surgeon submitting request for approval for my bypass surgery at the end of last week. Still waiting for approval... Just wondering if t is a good thing they assigned me a health coach or not... I am hoping that means that are approving me... ???? Did this happen to anyone else? What kind of things did she talk to you about?

So after calling insurance all week- it looks like my pre-auth was originally submitted without a procedure code, and with the incorrect date? It does show approval for one day inpatient, but it is for a date next year? So the rep I talked to said they have to resubmit with the correct day and ask for two days instead of one. The insurance coordinator is not in the office today-- I feel like I am doing a ton of leg work that should be her job-- the things that were missing were pretty basic and how did they have the day wrong? ????????. Crazy-- So I think I am approved, but they need to resubmit! Ugh!!!! I am calling Monday Morning when she is back in the office! Frustrated---

I am still waiting for approval from insurance, but my "tentative" surgery date is 9/29-- It seems so far away! If my insurance comes back fast with approval the scheduler said she could try and bump the surgery up to a sooner date.... Common Highmark BCBS ????????????

I have a tentative date --it was 5 week after the date of submission, but she said if it came back right away they could try and make it sooner--

I like muscle milk pro both vanilla and chocolate. These are my favorite. ???? I like the chocolate premier Protein shakes.

My surgeon also recommends no alcohol at all after surgery.

Mid 30's here (35) ???????? sometimes I wish I had done it sooner!

My weigh in went great! I was down 8lbs which impressed my surgeon. They are submitting for approval this week. I have a surgery date of 9/29 to give some time for approval. She did say that if my insurance approval came quick she would try and make surgery sooner if possible, but he is pretty busy in August! I hope my insurance company comes back with a fast approval! ????????????????
