I can't say it is normal but I have had some similar experiences myself. For me it depends on what I am eating and what time of day usually. It seems like I have that problem when I try to eat something like a breakfast sandwich. When this happens I usually pull apart the sandwich and juts eat the Protein. I have heard other bandsters say the "tightness" of their bands fluctuates and that early morning is usually the worst. I have also had chest pains at dinner and again it seems to happen when I am eating something that is just too big and then I am reminded that I probably shouldn't be eating that something anyway and then I concentrate on eating the protein in small bites. That seems to work for me. I will also flush everything down with Water when I start to have problems.

I don't even like Pizza Hut but those commercials definitely have me wanting to try their weird hot dog crusts lol.

How do you know when to stop eating?
Rizzle01 replied to kentx05's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I am with B-52. I simply eat until I feel full which is much sooner than it used to be. -
Let me just say they won't kill you lol.

Pain Medication: Stop before or after?
Rizzle01 replied to choosehope's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
If you are already in pain the surgery will bring much more with it. Imho I would wait until a couple of weeks after your surgery date to do anything drastic. -
How accurate is your calorie counting?
Rizzle01 replied to Sara51692's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I just ballpark it. I really don't think our bodies are as sensitive to the minor fluctuation as our minds are. I mean at the end of the day whats the difference between a 220 calorie piece of salmon or 240? It is a miniscule amount in the grand scheme of things. -
I experienced the same thing. When I got that hungry I simply allowed myself some "real" protein. I found that string cheese and lunch meat really helped me. I would also grab a P3 protein pack if I was on the go. Those saved me lol. I think you will be fine if you follow your Dr's advice the best you can.

I treat myself to sashimi almost every Friday!

So far I am glad I did. I can't wait until I am at the whole new wardrobe/friends can't recognize me phase. I am in the get to ride the rides at theme park/buckle up on the airplane without strain phase lol.

Ceetee13 every program is different but my nutritionist said my weight loss during the pre-op diet was very impressive. He said one guy lost 12 pounds in 2 weeks but that most people only lose about 3-4. At first I was under the impression that the weight would just fly off as well. Now I understand that 1-2 lbs a week is a healthy target. I lose somewhere between 0.5-2 lbs a week. In this instance I think slow and steady wins the race. So far I am doing pretty well with my band. I am down about 35 lbs since the new year. I still have along way to go but I am already feeling much better. It is the simple things that I try to focus on like going up stairs and not being out of breath or buying a size smaller jeans, that kind of stuff. It sounds like you are off to a great start and I wish you success.

I started my journey in February and I am only down ~ 35 lbs. It sounds like you are getting great results. My Dr. also made me wait 2 months for my first fill. I just got another this week and I suspect I will be in for another within the month. I think we just need to be patient. Also, did I read that you thought you would lose >100 lbs in a few months? That sounds dangerous.

That is pretty good results imho. I just did my pre-op diet in February and I lost 7 lbs in 14 days. My diet was a little different then yours but very similar. I would chalk this up to win.

I hit my 1st major milestone. I am back under 300lbs as of today! That means I will be able to ride a majority of the rides at the water parks and Lagoon this summer! I am beyond stoked!

Ok, this label "Super Obese" !?
Rizzle01 replied to VDB's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have always hated the term "morbidly" obese as well. Cheers. -
Three pounds is still 3 pounds, congratulations. I lost about 6 or 7 during my 2 week liver cleanse. The purpose of the cleanse is to shrink your liver so that they can put the band on without having complications.

Hello Bandsters, So I have some questions. I got banded on 3/5/15 and had my first fill on 5/4/15. My Dr gave me 4CC for my first fill and told me I had about 0.5CC in my band from the surgery bringing my total fill to ~ 4.5CC. Since being filled my appetite has been severely diminished. I can get full very easily now. I can also eat whatever I want without fear of a stuck episode. At first the weight was flying off but the last month and half I have been losing 1-2 pounds a week. I have lost almost 30 lbs since my pre-surgery liver shrinking diet so nothing to scoff at but the weight isn't flying off either. So my question is should I just live with the 4.5CC or I should I get another fill? The Dr wants to give me another 2CC if I see him again. I am really afraid of having stuck episodes but I also want to lose weight a little quicker. I am considering just living with the 4.5CC or asking the Dr to just give me 1 more CC. I am really torn lol. Any advice? I am currently consuming about 1200-1500 calories a day. Before the band I was consuming in excess of 3000 calories a day. My exercise routine is severely lacking as I have been dealing with a couple of stress fractures in my foot. Thanks, Rizzle01

Wow! Thanks guys. You have given me a lot to think about.

Ok, let me clarify, my Dr. Wants to give me another fill if I don't feel any restiance from the 1st fill. I most definetly feel the resistence in that I get full easily (I can eat 1/2 medium sandwich for lunch instead of a full large sandwich with chips). I still find myself wanting to snack about 3 hour later but I try to wait until the next meal. I don't always wait though. I almost always have a mid-day snack anything from a string cheese to a P3 protein pack. I also usually have an evening snack of sugar free pudding or similar. The Dr doesn't really want to have to snack very much but I feel like I am keeping the snacking to a minimum (amount of calories). I can't stress how afraid of having stuck episodes I am. I am leaning towards asking him for another 1CC. I think that might be appropriate? He is also of the mind that it is easier to manage more frequent small fills than overshoot it.

I am very new here and just got banded this year. When I see your posts I pay attention. I hope you stay around! You seem to be a voice of reason.
