Wow back2barb78! Your progress looks how I want mine!

    Newbie

I sure hope my diabetes goes away. I have to take insulin as well and I HATE it!!! With a passion! If I don't get rid of this dang disease with surgery I think I'll bust with depression. I don't "want" to do that. I want to feel good and get off the meds. I too hope that there is something you can do!!!
  4. Some surgeons don't require a pre-op diet at all. I'm sure that if yours does, he will let you know in plenty of time. For most people it is either 1 or 2 weeks. Some people just have a 2 day clear liquid diet right before surgery. It really does vary a lot depending on your surgeon. Oh ok, I see. I don't care.....I'm just glad to be able to finally do this!!!

    Pre Liquid Diet

I'm doing some "food funerals" now to begin preparing myself. I'm saying goodbye to foods that I really should not and probably won't be able to eat after surgery.

    Any April Sleevers?

My preop is the 10th of April.
  7. So when does pre-op shake/liquid diet begin? I haven't gotten anything from my doc. I don't go in for pre-op with him until the Friday before surgery.

    Who Are You?

Hi! My name is Angie. I'm 38 years old and I have surgery one month from today. I am so nervous. I don't know whether I should read stories about the surgery, or come here and read about who you all are. But I did this first, so I'm going to tell you all a little bit about me. I have three beautiful daughters....ages 15, 7, and 5. They are so precious and perfect to me. I love them and they bring me great joy! Then there is my husband.....OMG!!! I have not ever in my life met someone so perfect for me. He is not the father to any of my children, but he loves them like they were his own. Each of my kids has a different father, please don't judge, because I wouldn't change that for the world! My husband and I lived together two years, and we got married on 2/15/15. Everyday since has been like a total dream come true. Just being with him and my girls makes me feel so blessed! Regardless of the daily struggle I have with my "fat suit" as I call it, I am able to see the many blessings God has given me. And yes, Jesus is an INCREDIBLE part of my life. HE is my everything. Now, to be honest I am getting very nervous, even scared. When I thought surgery wasn't going to be until the summer I was cool. But today leaves me one month away. However, even with the nerves, I'm still excited to take this "suit" off. I want to feel better, move better, be better. I know that God has a plan, and I am praying with all I have that this is successful and just a complete blessing. Not only for me, but for my little ones. I want them to have mom around for a good long time! Back to me: my husband and I LOVE to go sing karaoke. Some of my favorites to sing are "Sparks Fly", "So Small", anything by the Judds and Natalie Grant. (Gotta have some Christian music in there!) Yes, I'm a Christian, I go to an awesome church in Houston, called Crossroads Fellowship. It is awesome! The majority of my time I'm listening to music that is uplifting, Christian music is my favorite....KSBJ and Air1 lift my spirits. I'm also an accountant. I LOVE LOVE LOVE numbers and working with them at my job everyday! With three kids and my husband being disabled, I have a lot on my plate. But my boss and coworkers work with me and give me a free flexible schedule. I can't tell you enough how great it is to work where I do. It's awesome. Oh, and my undergraduate degree was in Catholic Theology. Hear that? Catholic! HA! The church I attend now is Assembly of God. So different, but both so wonderful on so many levels. I have a great respect for Christian beliefs. Well, that's about it of me. Any questions, let me know. This is actually my first post. Hope you all have a great and blessed day!
