I had a very similar experience. I called the office and told them my problem. The nurse suggested taking a prilosec morning and night and not to eat or drink anything for at least 2 hours before bedtime. I drank only liquid and soft foods for a few days and after about 10 days I was cured and went back to regular foods. She gave me a great advice and it was just that simple to fix the problem I thought I would have to have an unfill and imagined all kind of problems but it was fixed with that 1 phone call. Good luck to you.

I had my band op in dec. 2007 at WLSC in Overland Park. Surgery went fine but was very disappointed in the follow up with fills, etc. Blue Cross paid them $69K and then my insurance changed about 3 mos. later and they would only do the fills for another $250 each time. They also charged me $800 for an unfil because they said I had stretched my esophagus after the 2nd fill. WLSC kept bugging me because I still owed them $20. I quit going and finally after about 6 mos. I went looking for another place. Fortunately, Tall Grass out at Topeka accepted me and started doing my fills under my Humana plan. I am now within 12 lbs. of goal and the P.A. (Robert) at Tall Grass has been absolutely wonderful with the fills, support, education, etc. I am so lucky and happy that I found them because It has been a blessing. I had the impression that WLSC was only interested in making $$. I never heard from them except when it was about trying to collect money. Personally, I thought for $69K they would have been satisfied. They had also told me that my port would not show after the surgery but where they placed it sticks out like a big marble.

Thanks for the comment. I am feeling great now. I noticed that you had your procedure done in Mexico. Would you mind sharing the cost? Fortunately, mine was covered by insurance but I have a friend who wants it done but no insurance. -
You are just very swollen since it has only been 3 days. It will get better every day. The worst is over.

Everyday is progress and as I have been told about the gas situation is that it varies from person to person. Mine seems to be all gone after 2 weeks. You have definitely got past the worst part and you are on your way to a smaller you.

Congratulations! The first 3 days were the worst for me and then its smooth sailing. I am glad you were able to get it all done at one time. It has been 2 weeks for me and I have found I can eat about anything now but just not very much. It certainly changes your behavior. -

Hopefully, the new Dr. has done a lot of lapbands. My Dr. had done over 300 of them and he did the gastric bypass before that. It is too bad you have to get back in line. I know when I was waiting for insurance ok, it seemed like it was forever. Maybe in the long run, this will be much better for you because you will only have to go through it once. -
Banded in Overland Park, KS at WLSC by Dr. Nigro. I had a large hiatal hernia that was repaired during the banding procedure. It takes me about 30 minutes to drink a cup of coffee and it is very uncomfortable going down. I assume that I have a lot of swelling because of the hernia and hopefully things will get better. I am a 64 yr. old male with a bmi of 36.

I was banded 12/3/07 and had a large hiatal hernia that the Dr. repaired during the banding procedure. -
This is now Thursday and I was banded on Monday. I had a hiatal hernia repaired at the time of the banding so there is a lot of swelling. It takes me about 30 minutes to drink a cup of coffee and it seems very uncomfortable going down. Most of the surgical pain is gone. I am hoping as the swelling goes down, I will be able to drink comfortably. I am a 64 yr. old male with bmi of 36 banded in Overland Park, KS by Dr. NIgro of WLSC.
