Karen - I have a little girl who can keep you company while you sit down. You need this rest, it's true. I haven't been to work since tuesday. This morning I was rough from the procedure, so I figured I needed to give my body a day of rest. I could get used to this, however, I'd have to learn the daytime tv schedule. Wavy - Good Luck with STD, Dr B is tough - I only got 3 weeks for RNY while most people get 6-8 weeks. I was very tired for the first 8 weeks too. Now, I'm fine. Except my back. How's everyone else? Kim I hope your doing better. Do you work Fridays? I think it would be cool working for a dr, I just don't want to touch anyone's bodies for any reason. I've seen enough of my dr for a lifetime in the past 5 days. I'm better now. Just working on getting my back fixed up next. I sure don't want surgery for that. Off to bed. Gotta get up early for work. Does it ever get easier?? Jennifer :omg:

Karen, I think I'm still bloated, there's gotta be some explaination. I'm 3 months post op. I hope your bloat goes soon. How's the walking? Kim - My back is there. I can send you a private message if you want to know more. I meant to ask how your meeting went. Did you hire the cma yet? I was looking into the job description on gaston college, totally not for me. THey do phlebotomy. I better stick with business jobs. Paper pushing. I'm so ready for the weekend, do I really need to work tomorrow and Friday? I was off today for a medical procedure that went very stressfuly, but not surgery related. Next week DH is having a medical procedure so I'll be off wednesday again. Daughter is freed for the summer, any takers? Just kidding, I'm a hoverer and I don't let her out of my sight. I hope all is well with the rest of you. Jennifer

Melissa - That was funny about your oldest trying to give Karah up for adoption. My brother whose 38 and I had a hate relationship growing up, we are very close now. I beleive my brother's, I have five of them, would have paid to give me away when I was young. They were all in their teens when I was born and we've never been close. One brother used to say he was going to get custody of me if anything happened to our mom. Well, she died three years ago and he asked if he could have custody. It's rather funny, but we hardly talk. So Sad. I'll take Karah if she can Deal with CHloe. Does Karah talk alot, chloe runs circles around me and I though I talked alot. Jennifer

Karen, I'll try to catch up with you for lunch on the 17th. Husband has a full day of classes and I have Chloe all to myself. In addition, I might need to sneak to Gap/Old Navy over there because I love shopping in the university area. I fit in a size Large gap top. I spent $30 and got several tops and a hoodie. I even got two pairs of terry capris at NY & Co. I'm loving the Northlake Mall. Chloe got a build a bear, I think it's number #10 or so and it's clothes ripped within 24 hours, I told her we'd have to take them back and she cried. Why is she so emotional, returning things is my forte'. Catch all of you later. Tomorrow I'm having a procedure, and I"m gonna kick the dr in the face if it doesn't work and I have to go to the hospital. This is the second try. My weight loss is slow, slow, slow and i've run out of books to read.
-
Sunsett - I'll move next to you if you'd babysit. Just kidding. Chloe needs some nanna's or what ever they are called. Karah is so cute, can I have her for Chloe? SHe'd love to have a sister.

I just wanted to point out we only have a few more hours until May is over and this thread is retired. Tomorrow my princess finishes and graduates pre k - she's heading to kindergarten. Now if I could get big kid out of college, we'd be one happy, educated family. Just kidding, but he should be done this year. Wavy - as long as dr b has the paperwork to get you approved your cool. By the way, they do not NEED the psych or nutrionist notes to apply for the insurance, they just need your medical records from your dr's office stating your comorbidities and your weight history to support the BMI info. Then your good to go. I remember my approval moved quickly, I think it took at most 5 days for the preapproval. You will be fine. I was anxious about it too. I decided to do straight RNY though. I figure if I wanted the band I could change before surgery was scheduled. Patience Ladies - Patience. Karen - Your Awsome. Your big day will be here soon. I'm so happy you kept your faith and moved forward with the process. JT

Diane, Welcome- as you see I had RNY instead of lap band but I'm still kicking around here at LBT. I used dr bauman for my RNY, he only requires you to have a consult and preop appt at his office. Everything else can be done by your PCP and faxed in. I'm not sure if there's flexibility with the nutrionist and the psych because I used the one's he recommended. Since your self pay it would probably be easier to get a date and approvals. I was fortunate to have insurance that covers both RNY and Lap Band. I felt very guilty about putting myself first and having surgery, but you know what your worth it. I read an article that quoted women who are care takers of others tend to put themselves last and neglect themselves. This is me to a T. I went from being my mom's caretaker to being a spouse and mother. So, this year it's all about me. One exciting thing to look forward to is your transformation and an added bonus is the group here online, they are so nice. I would consider dr V too since many people have used him too. I don't know much about dr v though. My opinion anyone wainting to get certified by IMed would be scratched off my list, just me. Good Luck with your Journey. JEnnifer

June lunch would be fine with me. If the weather on the 17th is anything like last weekend, I'd probably need to skip the pool. My husband has school on this day too, so I'm in charge of Chloe all day. I'd love to do lunch in an a/c resturant. July is wide open except for my husbands weekly classes at school.

Mrs Saber on a lap top = watch out now. We spend the weekend dodging sunburn, I've never felt so loved before. Thanks for the swim karen. We've been busy having fun this weekend. Tomorrow is back to reality.

Wavy - Yes, they can submit to UHC before your H Pilori test. I don't remember the insurance person's name but if you ask for them to get a preapproval they will do that for you. Atleast, that's what they did for me. I had my surgery there in Feb 06 and No problems. Good Luck!

Hey Karen, You know I lost my weight and my back disc injury is worse. I hope things chill for you soon because you need some time to relax. I'm off to see the specialist friday to find out if I need to see a surgeon. I hope they can fix me quickly. this is interfering with my wls.

Hello Ladies, We met with the principal of our daughter's school today. She's staying with the Christian School where she attends preschool now. This school goes from age 2 - 8th grade. This private school gig is an expensive habit. WE went over the kindergarten curriculum - woah. Atleast, I know that my daughter is totally prepared. They tested her for reading placement in the fall. She just read The Best Me off the computer screen. Right now they are reading small books wiht three word sentences. My husband goes back to grad school this week, he's gonna have a fun summer. He should be ready to graduate in December. I am still weighing my options for school. I was taking an elementary education program but now I'm dabbling with the idea of going to be a paralegal. Anything beats what I'm doing now, with my college degree. The weight loss has slowed down some. I see dr b next week for my 3 month appointment. I am not going to be attending lunch saturday due to Husband's school. I am so glad Karen is on her way to band land. Next is Wavy... Take Care all... I haven't followed up with the spine dr this week like I was supposed to, I think I'm going to see our primary dr again regarding the back, plus talk with Dr B about it. I have been reading some great books by kristin billerbeck and they are really cute (chick books). I'm Off.... Jennifer

Has anyone suffered with herniated lumbar disc's? I've been suffering for well over a year, since I've lost the 50lbs, my feet are killing me. It's affecting my ability to work out because I feel crippled afterwards. I saw the spine center dr yesterday and he recommended one more test then spine surgery. However, I do not want surgery. I am not willing to undergo this. Any ideas or sucessful experiences with non-surgical herniated discs? I was also told by the dr that I pose a big challenge, because of my unstable weight. Which is a good thing. I feel a little defeated. I had WLS in an effort to see if my back would heal up and it's gotten much worse. I am dealing with alot of pain but hardly talk about it. Since, I've been so happy after my RNY. Jennifer :help:

I don't Celebrate mother's day since it conflicts with my birthday so often. This has been a feeling I've had for many years, I don't want to dampen anyone's holiday though. I just take the happy mother's day and say thank you. Move along. We had a busier than usual weekend. I am feeling much better, but my throat/vocal cords are still showing signs of horseness. I don't have to talk on the phone at work so this is fine. I work tomorrow then off Tuesday for a preschool field trip, Yoo Hooo... I love spending times with the kids. On Friday we did the charter school tour and I hardly paid attention because I was reading all the stuff the kids wrote and loved it. We decided against the charter school though. Chloe is staying where's she's at. I hope all is well. I'm done with the birthday celebrations and we did carowinds but it was too cold for the Water park. WE went early and rode alot of rides.

:faint: I have decided I'm not getting a bike. I figure with the herniated disc and the summer heat I might as well go to the Gym and exercise in the ac. I'd like to walk at the track but i do have some safety concerns with out door walking, like getting run over because there's no sidewalks. IS anyone else getting a bike? I really would love to have one. Maybe at another date. I don't Celebrate mother's day so I'm not looking for any gifts for that.

I second that karen is patient and awsome. I really value our friendship. I was kidding Kim, I didn't call dr b's at all. Well, once, when i was having second thoughts and I wanted my $$ back, only to find out minutes later that I was approved. Once I heard that word, I was having surgery. I delayed my surgery by my own choice because I wanted to get my $$ and PTO in order before Surgery. I had surgery on my mom's birthday. I felt it was a special sign to have it on her special day. She's in heaven now, but It's ok. She would have been against the surgery, but I am a grown up now. Atleast I think so on paper. Wavy = Karen can send you some patience. We all do well. We will be there for you incase you have second thoughts, gosh I had so many thats' how I wound up here on LBT. I was considering the band, until I realized I couldn't committ to the follow up care, I'm just not good with maintence things, like getting my nails done and stuff like that.
-
I wanted to comment on here - Karen quit calling Kim 5 times a day, she's gotta call the insurance. Just kidding I couldn't resist. I never call the dr's, unless I need to make and appt. I found dr b's service to be fine, and timely. Now, I do know his practice has picked up alot of business these days now that obesity surgery is more accessible to all.

Thanks for the birthday wishes. My gift came from eckerd's in the form of an antibotic. I have some sickness that is hurting me today. I plan on celebrating this weekend. My daughter insisted we got to sams and get a cake she likes. I had tiny bit.
-
Wavy - no bike for me. Maybe next year.
-
Ok Wavy - here's the lazy option Email. I found they usually answered within 24 hours. I had to call a few times. Check with the psych and make sure they sent in the paper work. Check with your PCP and make sure. I double checked on everyone and things got moving when they knew they were accountable. I'll private message you the email address.
