  1. What's with all the bitching about not losing 10 lbs. a day? At least three new whines are posted daily. I have come to the conclusion that the psychologists who do evaluations are asking the wrong questions and not paying attention.

@heidikat72 Same here! She actually asked me about my weight loss expectations and how I would feel if I only lost "....". I said I had hoped to lose 50 lbs by 6 months.

BTW, @High functioning fat man, the fact that you lost anything so soon after surgery is amazing. Most people are swollen and fluid filled..and ten or more lbs. heavier than what they weighed before surgery. So..great job so far!

My surgeon tries to manage expectations as well. For me, when I finally get the surgery, I am thinking losing more slowly would actually be better in a lot of ways. For one, I am not going to tell people about the surgery and a slower loss will be less noticeable. Secondly, I have a closet full of clothes that are various sizes (all too tight) I am kinda hoping to move down in size a little at a time so I can wear those things for a while each size. Third, I am hoping that a slower loss will help my not have SO much baggy skin. I know I will have it, but maybe it will make it not as bad if I lose slowly (I hope anyway!) I think people are just unrealistic altogether. People with more to lose are usually going to lose more quickly, at least in the beginning. That's the way it always is!
