What the hell did I do to my body?
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to gary5862's topic in Rants & Raves
You poor man. Phone the surgeon and demand a refund. P.S. Grow up. It's a penis. -
Tomorrow is the day
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to biglady904's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Real anxiety is preferable to the artificial type. You'll be fine. You will. Here's my usual advice for the morning of. Change the sheets in the morning before you head out the door. It will occupy your mind for a few minutes and you'll come home to a fresh bed. You're terrific. -
DOES EVERYONE LOG?
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to VEGAN ME's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@ -- not everyone logs. Those who do do well. Those who don't often are iffy at best. Logging is more than tracking what goes into your mouth on a daily basis. It can be useful when changes are indicated to improve rate of weight loss. -
Officially started my journey! NEED OPINIONS
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to ML573663's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It may well be doable over Thanksgiving break, but I'd wait until winter break just in case. The delay is only several weeks. If it were a six-month delay, then I'd go in circles over deciding. Keep it simple and safe as possible. -

Thought I Was Invincible...
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to smashley296's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
My hair has been carpeting my carpeting. I've been taking Biotin (5000mg + whatever is in my multivitamin) for some time, but don't credit it with minimizing hair loss or anything else. I continue taking it just in case it might be doing something even slightly useful. It can't hurt and I don't want stop only to find that it was, in fact, even minimally helpful. Another product gave me the impression of slowing the rate of loss (it slowed a while after I began) is Jarrosil, silicon drops that come in a small dropper bottle. It was my RD who mentioned it. The dose is 10 drops mixed into 1/2 cup Water, once daily. Now that I think of it, I'll restart it. -
@@fatgirlsvelte One can hope. I saw a screen name new to me, SalOdyssey (I can't swear to the spacing or capitalization) a few minutes ago in an other topic. "Moderator," something else I'd never noticed before in BP, appeared immediately beneath it. Perhaps that person will stop in here.

OK, not trying to be mean, but there actually are stupid questions lol
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to anniebanana's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What's wrong with that? Everyone knows that a lapband is a strip of bacon. Raw bacon. The alcohol preserves it. They want to hear only what they want to hear. When they don't, they edit "affirm my decision..." to "a firm decision..." and proceed with smugness. They're all on their own. -
ONE must know thing....
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to SalOdyssey's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
No blinders allowed. Surgery is not a magic wand. You must do appropriate work to lose weight and continue doing appropriate work to maintain the weight loss. Whether band, sleeve or bypass, people who expect the procedure to carry them through get mighty grumpy. @@SalOdyssey, que veut dire "Moderator?" I haven't seen that on BP before. -
Thought I Was Invincible...
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to smashley296's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
@@smashley296, there are no guarantees, but you do look young enough that, as most bariatric professionals and patients say, the hair will grow back. (It's possible that older women's [people's?] hormones are as much or more the cause, in which case, it's probably gone forever. Not all older women are subject, though.) As James Marusek mentioned, it's important to get your full complement of Protein. Biotin is often recommended, up to 5,000 mg daily (many multis include it, so be aware of the total). It may or may not make a difference. Other products are recommended, but I can't recall offhand. Someone may come along with the info. @@James Marusek, I googled Juvenon and found that it's a brand name. My guess is that you take Juvenon™ Cellular Health Supplement because of the biotin. Please confirm. I'm also curious about the brown color that was restored. Would you say it was your original brown or something different and, perhaps, not quite what is considered a natural sort of brown? -
@@fatgirlsvelte, Y'know, it may be that the person who hit "report" did so inadvertently. S/he may have been aiming for "edit" or another of the click-upons and -- boom! The laws of nature say that there is someone who will be put off by anything, but your post is way far an exception to the laws.

I'm so confused-unclear diet plan from doc
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to Evenkeel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You're making safe choices so far. The meat in chili is fine because, after a fashion, it's pre-chewed. I'm not sure what the nurse means by taking time getting to the soft stuff in place of pureeing. Imagine the scary eyes of the cat in your signature photo staring right into yours to say, "Do not sit quietly until your next appointment. If you need clarification and have questions, call now." You're the customer and we're speaking about your well-being. -
Possible revision?
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to ventugurl's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
@@Steven1954, thanks for the additional input. The best to you. @@waterwoman, it's interesting how many ways there may be to go about getting revision covered. I hope the person who handles the insurance papers in my practice knows about my plan. The book is organized in a way guaranteed to make a person homicidal, so to speak. -
@@fatgirlsvelte, it's lunacy that a disgruntled creep can whine and an entire topic disappears. That is, I think the whole thing is gone rather than just the posts with your pics. You're an asset. Please stay. Let the miscreant be disappeared.

Cold liquids go down hard in the morning when I take synthroid. I'll drink a cup of warm Water with it. Your band may be a tiny tad too tight. Until you speak with whomever, stick with warm liquids. Room temp may also be more comfortable.

You truly are Venus rising from the sea. Botticelli, Titian and the others would swoon. Many talk about becoming "a new me" after surgery, but they'll still be themselves. However they will think and feel about themselves and their places in the world came from their pasts, not thunderbolts. You're from the sea and you own a thunderbolt.

Post surgery Q - recovery
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to beyondgrief's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Neither the experiences of others nor your own surgery history can tell you for sure how you'll feel post-op. Be wise and count on needing some time off. If you do bounce back in a day or so, fine. Even then, take if easy. If "no time to take" is fact, what happens if you do need time? Time without pay? Being fired? If you can't afford the first and the second is gospel, you might consider postponing until you have a week accrued. -
Does it seem "strangers" are more supportive than those close?
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to Harsha's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
If most of your family, friends and co-workers are supportive, your scorecard looks quite nice. It's unrealistic to expect the immediate world to cheer. You'll probably be a lot happier if you go about your own business and forget the ones who say stupid or negative things. There's no need to discuss anything further with them. Even with good support, you really are the only one who'll be doing the work. -

Don't do anything. Let him slide. You've initiated many contacts and been hurt each time by the lack of response and the responses you did get. It hurts to say this to you, but to send a video, text, voice or any other contact is groveling to be taken back. You deserve better. "Better" includes holding your head high and that, dear lady, is your job. You're open to a relationship that's about love, fun, friendship, caring, kindness, sex, loyalty, consideration, blah, blah, blah. There are men who want the same. They're called grown-ups. -
A random observation
WLSResources/ClothingExch replied to gowalking's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I can't say whether it was before I ever thought of surgery or after banding that I became aware of frequent clothing adjustments as a phenomenon. Regardless of when, I understood that it related to weight. Alas, it became another thing over which to feel self-conscious! It's an interesting observation, isn't it? It's excellent that you're on the other side of tugging and untucking. -
