  1. Hi everyone! It seems I was a little late to join any sort of support forum for my surgery.. Better late than never, right? I got my gastric sleeve done a little over two years ago and its been quite a ride... Just wanted to give a little insight on what its like for me a few years later and also get some feedback. Now a days I go to the gym alot... I used to not have any energy but ever since I completely cut out any refined sugars I feel more energetic than ever and its funny how before after 20 min at the gym I was wondering when this eliptical hell will be over... and now, now I can just keep going and going and going... Anyways, I can basically eat anything although there are certain foods that just kill me.. Dont know if any of you have any specific foods that are just murder for you.. but in my case any steamed rice or extremely fried stuff (as in french fries... i mourn for french fries) gives me really bad stomach pains... Do any of you get any pains from certain foods? Its ironic that I can sit down and scarf down a whole steak though... silver lining. I also have to share that I developed an eating disorder after my surgery... I was somewhat bulimic (on and off) before my surgery and after it due to all the unintended vomiting it triggered the bulimia again and I ended up throwing up (intentionally) many times a week... Not good. I decided that I didnt end up going through such a difficult surgery just to screw up my body with some stupid disorder... so this Feb 14th I turned 30 and decided I was going to eat consciously.. make sure that Im treating my body nicely with nutritious food.. and obviously, not throwing up anymore.. Today is March 11th which means it will almost be a complete month without vomiting, without refined sugars, and going to the gym daily... and I have to say I FEEL SOOOO GOOD... It was hard for the first two weeks.. but hanging in there really helps. Now I can say Im very much latched on.. not just hanging by a thread.. and its extremely motivating to see muscles I had never seen before and to keep watching all these layers being removed from the body I knew I always had underneath. Anybody that has had their surgery over a year ago? How are you guys doing?
