  1. Surgery on March 25th. Just stocked the freezer with easy things for the fam to prepare while Im recovering. Still need to do laundry, pack bag and retype schedule so everyone knows where they are going when. My mom is coming to take care of my daughter while im in the hospital so I cleaned this weekend. I hope I dont forget anything!

    Not supportive

My mom said the same thing and it infuriated me at the time. I am 2 days from surgery and despite her initial attitude she plans to be there to support me through the surgery. Once he see your determination, his attitude will likely change. If not, I guess that will be a clue to kind of husband you can expect.
  3. Im on March 25 too! I have been on the preop diet for 13 days and lost 4 pounds at last check. I wish I could get excited but so far I am not. Just scared. I feel like Im going to be an emotional wreck by the time I get to the hospital on Wednesday.

    March Sleevers

4 days until surgery on March 25. Anxiety level rising rapidly. I hope they will give me anti anxiety meds in preop.
  5. I just want to get an idea of what is typical. How much did you lose? Did you cheat at all? Also what is your bmi? I am on day 11 and I've lost 3 pounds. I have stuck to the program, no cheating. My current BMI is 39.

    Mother nature

My surgery is in 6 days and I think Im going to get mine too. So not a convenient time. I am kinda hoping it starts early so it will be done by then.
  8. I am doing 3 shakes and one small carb free meal per day. I am on day 10. First 3 days were not bad, dsy 4 and 5 I was so hungry, and since then the hunger hasn't been too bad but I have no energy. I am so tired I had to take a nap at work yesterday. Its bad.
  9. I cut out eating almost all artificial sweetners years ago because I didnt like the idea of putting all that fake crap in my body. Now it obviously become an issue because its so prevalent in most of the foods im allowed to have for the near future. Anyone else concerned about this and if so how are you handling it?
  10. I think the OP has a valid point. Its not normal to obsess over food either way.
  11. Today starts the one week countdown to surgery. Im trying to get excited but between being terrified and feeling crappy from the preop diet, Im having difficulty. Who else is going March 25? Maybe we can generate some group enthusiasm and positive vibes.

    March Sleevers

Im on day 9 of my preop diet and I have only lost 3 pounds. I have not cheated. Yesterday I went to my preop appt and was told that according to my tests, my liver was a normal size, meaning its not enlarged. I wonder if that is why im not losing much?

    Surgeon sums it up.

I went for my preop yesterday and my doctor's assistant said that I would have a catheter for the first night so that varies by surgeon. Not excited about that.
  14. Im not opposed to Stevie. It just seems like its not in a lot of products and when it is they are so expensive. Ive actually read Stevia has some health benefits. I did find a protien shake with Stevia called Jay Robb brand. Its at Whole Foods. Its on the approved list from my dr office. Unfortunately, I purchase a 3 lb container of something else that I need to use up before I can switch over.
  15. My surgeons office told me to start my preop diet on march 10th for a surgery date of march 25. They told me to do the diet for 14 days, which would make my preop phase over next Monday. But my surgery is not until wednesday. What am I supposed to do for that day in between? Eat normal? Continue with preop? I know you cant eat/drink after midnight the day of surgery but I will still have all of tuesday to get through.
  16. I have my preop dr appt this afternoon so I will ask!

    March Sleevers

My surgery is March 25. Im on day 8 of my preop diet. I yhink im opposite of most people. I found the first 3 days of preop diet easy, then I got hungry on day 4. Biggest issue is I feel so tired and no energy. Its been really hard to exercise bc im sooo tired.
  18. Yes I did this too. They basically drew blood and asked me a bunch of questions. It wasn't a big deal.
  19. I just ordered the Ultimate Gastric Sleeve Success book. Ive seen it recommended on a few posts.
  20. So im on day 4 of my preop diet. I have been meticulous following the diet. No cheating at all. Ive drank all my liquids everyday. I weighed myself today and I haven't lost a pound. I keep seeing posts from people who have lost 10 to 20 pounds on preop diet. Im really worried that this means my liver isnt shrinking or that I wont lose weight after my surgery. Is anyone else having a similar experience? Am I abnormal?
  21. Day 5 still haven't lost a thing. My preop diet is 4 shakes or small carb free meals a day spaced out every 4 hours. I have not cheated at all. Here's what im eating everyday: -Protien shake for Breakfast 7:30am -Protien shake for lunch noon -Protien shake for snack 4pm -4oz grilled chicken and 2 c. veggies w/ 2 tbsp low fat dressing for dinner 7pm - drinking over 264oz of liquids per day I guess I better be prepared for it to take forever to lose anything even after the surgery. Looks like my body can exist on next to nothing. Too bad im not a prehistoric human because I bet I would survive great. I was
  22. Im on my 4th day liquid diet, too. So far is hasn't been too bad. I have not cheated at all. Im just really bummed that I haven't lost a pound yet.
  23. Yes. This same exact thing happened to me. I bet we have the same insurance company. They kept telling me my doctors office had to call for that info. I found out later that i was just getting the run around. Call back and ask for a supervisor if they refuse again. You have a right to know what it in your policy.

    March 25th anyone?

Im over half way through my second day on the preop diet. So far not too bad. I was a little hungry last night before bed but nothing intolerable.
  25. I am scheduled for surgery on March 25. I started my pre op phase yesterday. So far I am feeling ok, not too hungry. Im very worried that I will feel horrible, weak and shaky. I HATE that feeling. Ive had hypoglycemia issues since I was a young child and its just the worst when your blood sugar suddenly nosedives. Ive been dreading this phase most of all. Anyone else in the pre op diet phase? How's it going?
