I kinda feel out of place....
Geron Girls replied to GibbsGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do this all the time. My girls will hand me a shirt of theirs to wear and I'll be like "No way is that my size.!" And every single time I put my jeans on I think there is no possible way I'm that size. -

What happens if you don't return to your doctor visits after post-op?
Geron Girls replied to msjg46's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand being upset with the nutritionist but you need to let your surgeon's office know about this. If this is someone on their team they want to know you aren't happy. And your surgeon's visits are an important part of your recovery and staying on track. -

If you have a World Market near you they carry a ton of the sugar free flavored syrups. Big bottles around $7-8. -
Ack! Only Starbucks for the weekend
Geron Girls replied to WorkinOnMe's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I always order the grande SF cinnamon dolce with 2%, added protein powder, and I do get the whip on top. It's worth the calories to me for a treat. Added protein powder and the 2% make it 18g? Of protein. Totally worth it to me. -
Looking for those who had sleeve in August 2015
Geron Girls replied to Sherri1964's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
70 lbs since surgery, 75 from top weight. Surgery date August 20th. I've got 7 lbs to my next goal and another 18 from there to my final goal. -
90g? I eat around 30g or 35g a day only I do take multivitamin everyday~ You really need a minimum of 60 g of protein a day unless you want long term health issues. Your body needs the protein. If you don't give it enough then it starts to take it from your organs and muscles.

Ulta had the Nioxin set on sale this past week, don't know if it still is or not.

I keep meaning to check on this. -
Are you getting your protein and water in first? Are you tracking every bite? Where is your carb intake at? Exercise?

Looking for those who had sleeve in August 2015
Geron Girls replied to Sherri1964's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sleeved on the 20th and I'm down 60 lbs. I still have another 40ish to go but I'm over half way there. I'm wearing a size large down from a 22/24. Best thing of the whole experience? My BP is under control for the first time in ten years -without meds! -
August sleevers - How are you doing? It's been insane how the weight has come off and how my health is recovering. I'm down just over 60 lbs. I just bought a size large dress today and a pair of size 10 Levis today. It's really fun shopping but a bit overwhelming at times since there are so many choices.

What have I done to myself?
Geron Girls replied to JellyBellyNoMore's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
First off, take the word "only" out of your vocabulary. When was the last time you lost 25 lbs in four weeks? That's more than five pounds a week! That is awesome. Track every gram of protein, every bite. And hydrate. I have had two major stalls since my surgery in August. Both times, for whatever weird reason, they lasted for 9 days each. Then I lost like two or three pounds overnight. Don't be discouraged. As long as you are following plan it will come off. -
My Fitness Pal Premium

How do you log your starting weight in baritastic? I can't seem to find that. -
OH Heck no. Nope. No way, no how would my husband treat me like that. I would have taken myself on to another restaurant and left him there with no car. And I'd be having a serious conversation about their relationship. I'm sorry.

I Would Like To Treat Myself

My MIL gave me a massage for my birthday. I'm so freaking excited. I have a short ton of stuff to get thru this week and next then I can schedule it. I've never had one but I have a feeling it won't be my last. -
Judged at the hospital
Geron Girls replied to BairwithMe's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The only thing I had happen was every shift change the nurse would be going over my chart with the next one and invariably the new one would say "Wait! She's a bariatric patient?" And I had three out of five tell me they had never had a bariatric patient my size. I was like seriously? I was at the 100 lb overweight mark. I'm with the others - complain. That isn't ok. -

Hello Fall! Does anyone have any goals, NSV's especially for fall?
Geron Girls replied to Elode's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
NSV for the fall happened Friday - I bought a pair of boots I have wanted for years and they are regular width! Not the extended calf! The sales lady brought me the extended calf first and I was wearing them and wondering why they felt so sloppy when she said "Oh those are extended calf! Let me get you the regular ones." -
That is freaking hilarious!

I'm sorry. The good news is my surgery and all the paperwork trained them for the next one. Because immediately after I had all my things straight they ended up walking another patient thru it too.

I finished my last step so the surgeon's office could submit for approval. So I called to check that everyone else had sent their stuff in to her - just to be sure there was nothing left to do on my part. She (surgery coordinator) said she didn't have the five year weight history from my PCP still. I called to ask them to send it please. Nurse tells me they only have records going back to 2013. I have been going to this practice since 2000. I told her that. She then tried to tell me it was because I hadn't seen THAT dr continuously. I again said no go - I've been her patient for over 7 years. And besides that, my chart is my chart. The information should still be there. Come to find out they had gone electronic but only paid to have the last two years records scanned in. She didn't want to have to pull my chart so she only submitted what they had! What the heck? I was very calm but made it clear that I expect her to not only pull it but get it submitted by the first part of this week. Lord save me from lazy people. I'm glad that I called to check. I will check again Wednesday. I just want to get it approved and on the schedule.

I'm with you, honey. One of the top three reasons I did gastric surgery was to lose some of my chest. When I'm finally at goal, if they aren't smaller in a big way, I will be having a reduction. Right now I can see some size going down but not in a huge way yet. I'm three weeks out from GS.
