I am 4 weeks post op and this happened to me last week. Mine comes and goes, some days I can't bear to eat anything except broth and other days I want chicken and other foods.
I have made a connection for me between this and days when I don't get my fluids and Vitamins. I did get sad the other day because I had my husband go get me some of my favorite refried Beans and just the smell of them made me feel sick.
Hang in there!! I hope this gets better for you!

Update. Still feeling great and losing weight. Just started puréed stage and it's great. Been enjoying poached eggs and avocado. Taco Bell pintos and cheese were good too. Found hot teas are a great way to get liquids so I'm staying hydrated. Just trying to increase Protein. Have my first follow up Tuesday so I'll see what the doctor says. 19 days post op and down 40 since March. Hope everyone is still feeling and doing well!
OMG Mel!! I know what you mean about the purée stage.... It was glorious to get there and come off all liquids!! LOL!! I'm so glad you are doing well and losing!! I am going to try hot tea because I am having a hard time getting in liquids now that I'm back at work. What are some of your favorite kinds of hot tea?

Hi everyone, I know I'm new to the board and a little late on the uptake, but I also was sleeved June 8th. How's everyone feeling? What are you eating at this point? I'm doing good, I just don't really have any energy! I think that is in part due to the extremely low caloric intake. Hoping to regain some energy soon though.

How are you feeling?

That's a great idea to set specific goals around daily routines!!

Unfortunately I cannot take Water into patient visits or into our medical warehouse because it is considered a clean environment.....
I'm thinking maybe I will have to set s timer or get an app to remind me go back to my desk and drink!!
I can take Water with me on my way to my patient visits so I should be doing that so I can drink in the car

I returned to work this week and I have found that it is difficult to get in all my Water.... I barely got in half and I could feel it at the end of the day.... I do have a desk but I am up all day going back and forth from patient visits to warehouse to desk.
Any ideas or suggestions on how to get in my fluids?

It will get better!! ???? I had my surgery June 1 and the first night was not fun! It does get better and walking really helped get rid of the gas pains! Make sure you are taking your pain medication as prescribed and try and relax and focus on the new you!

Hello I am a revision as well. Often as having a revision, we compare restriction with the band as I did. Having our type of surgery as I did in the same surgery (revision) having scar tissue plays a part in that.
The Sleeve is a sterner master and I was worried when I could eat more after a month. Liquids do go down quicker and each food type has the ability to have different type of restriction.
Liquids= no restriction/ Soft food= moderate restriction/ Solid foods depending on what kind= restriction.
I am 2 months out and have been a slow loser with the 3 week stall and for my age and pre-menopause, taking BP pills ALL have played a part in my weight lost. Not to forget your "bougie" size, the measuring device used to measure your new stomach size. ALL of these factors play a part.
Drink plenty of Water, Protein a must and watch slider foods that will not support your weight lost. The sleeve works you just have to work with it and not compare yourself with others. Remember this is no the band , thank God and we have a new stomach that we have to get use to. I have restriction and I weight out my food and STOP willfully when I feel the full signal, Over eating with the sleeve is out of bounds as it is nothing like the band, as stated this is sterner master and will not allow you to get away with eating around it. Work the Sleeve it is truly a great tool!
I remember being angry as I was 2 months out and only 15lb loss. Well since then I have lost 4lbs and it just came off.
Thanks!! I am glad to hear from someone else with a revision. Thinking about it after reading your post I do realize that I am comparing the two restrictions.... With my lap band I could hardly get Water down much less food and with the sleeve it is different. I started soft foods today and can totally feel the restriction now.... And I must say I love it! So much better then the band!!
Thanks for your post! ????

I would say as long as it is bearable pain you are okay. It may also be your internal stitches but it may just be sore! It shouldn't last more than 72 hrs if it's the stitches, but if it becomes to bothersome I would give your doc a call.

I am feeling great!!! Just about three weeks post op and today was the first day I got up and cleaned and did yard work. I had to force myself to do it but I have just been laying around and I cannot take it anymore! Felt good! I am super tired of full liquids but get to start soft foods Monday!!

I have been feeling a kind of burning pain whenever I stand or turn when lying or sitting down. I dont feel it when I'm walking unless I stretch.
It has scared the crap outta me.
Hey Jennna! Luckily the pain only lasted about 48 hrs, I am feeling better now! Hope you start feeling better too!

That is very true! Liquids pass quickly so hopefully once I am on soft foods it will feel better.
It is also a possibility that the restriction will feel different than from th band. I will have to try hard and be mindful of how it feels once on soft foods!

I was banded in 2008.... Band removed in 2012.... And sleeved June 1 2015. I am still on liquids but can get Water no Protein down no problem. From others experiences it seems that they are restricted even in the liquid phase. I have heard that revision patients often do not experience as much restriction..... Anyone experienced this?? Does it change when you get to solids?

I was outpatient and loved it! I'm in the medico field and there was no way I was staying overnight..... I was much more comfortable at home.

I have started reading a book called "Shades of Hope" by Teenie Mcarthy about food addiction. It has been amazing to read and work through while in recovery.

I would call your surgeons after hours number and have them call you back ASAP!

Looks like I'll be an August sleeved. Back is probably going to require minor surgery and have to have that done first so I can walk and sit again comfortably. Continued good luck to all of you.
So sorry to hear about your back surgery. Keep your head up..... You will get there!!

I think you have a point that the more you weigh at the starting point the harder it can be to see a difference at first! I will try taking pictures to see if I notice anything!! Thanks

Thanks Veronica! I need to develop some patience and be a little kinder to myself.... I have been so focused on if I look or feel different I have lost some sight of just focusing on being healthy

Thanks yall! My surgery was June 1st. I think taking my measurements may be beneficial!

So I started my prep diet at 324 pounds and was 309 the day of surgery. It's fifteen days later and I am down to 294.... But here is my problem; I am not seeing or feeling the lost pounds! I feel the same as I was at 324 and do not notice a change in the way my clothes fit or see a change when I look in the mirror. My husband tells me he can tell I have lost but I just don't see it.
Did this happen to anyone else? Is it just my body image in my head that is not allowing me to see the improvement?

I know it! I have the same feeling but instead of Apple murder I have decided to start journaling... It seems to help sometimes! And I can write all the things that I think I my head down instead of saying them to my poor family!
I can see now that there will be good days and bad days! But it will be totally worth it! I am down 15 pounds since surgery on June 1!

I was told that around day 14 or 15 the internal stitches that were placed would tear internally and that I may feel it or I may not. Well I feel it!! Really weird sensation and super uncomfortable... Every time I move it is worse..... I haven't had pain Meds since day 4 but I took some today.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did it just last a day?

I am finally at 22 pounds and can tell a difference in the way my scrub pants feel at work.... And I was able to buckle my seat belt in the work van without my seatbelt extension. So I guess it's little victories for now!!
