I have to lose 100 lbs before surgery and it has been a rough road does anyone have any suggestions

1. Drink no calories. Wean yourself off of soda and liquor now.
2. Drink water until your eyeballs float
3. Refrain from drinking fluids with your meals
4. do not eat anything made in a factory
5. Increase non-starchy veggies, while reducing fruit to one serving a day.
6. Dessert is an apple, not an apple pie
7. Eat proteins first, then veg, then small amount of fruit or sugar-free jello - ease up on the salt.
8. Turn the USDA Food pyramid chart upside down. (no one needs 6-11 servings of grain per day)
9. Weigh and measure. You cannot control that which you do not measure.
9. Use an online tracking system like My Fitness Pal, or Sparkpeople. You can be anonymous. The trick is to not lie to yourself.
10. Don't become part of the sofa.
11. Remember peer pressure? If you are easily influenced by what others eat around you, tempting to derail your effots, you are going to have to practice saying NO, Thank You. No one is going to shove Krispy Creme Donuts down your throat or duct tape bags of potato chips directly to your hips. Be as pleasant as you can, but speak up for yourself.
12. When people give you grief about your decision for bariatric surgery, just tell then that you and your bariatric team have developed a plan to help you prolong your years in your earthly container. Then give them your doctor's phone number so that they can call your doctor and tell him/her that they disagree with your care plan. Nosey people get on my last nerve.
When you get that snarky comment about taking the easy way out, invite them over for a brisk walk every day at 5 a.m. and see how helpful they are then. I wish you good luck and good health.
