Hi everyone. I had surgery on 3/10 and still have yet to eat anything (except I've been drinking water). For now, my surgeon has me on clear liquids - broth and sugar free jello only - with 1-2 protein shakes per day. The shakes that my surgeon's office uses are the OptiFast and they're pretty awful. The surgical PA that I saw in the hospital recommended EAS and Isopure as an alternative to OptiFast. Has anyone tried these? Where are they typically sold? Thanks in advance

I had a similar experience with the drainage tube as @Luvin_Life125 did. Mine was in for 3 days - they removed it right before I was discharged and it was definitely unpleasant but over within seconds. The nurses emptied the tube and measured the drainage while I was in the hospital. I also woke up with a catheter in after surgery. They took it out about 24 hours later. No pain from that - just relief!

Hi all. I'm new here... I've been browsing the forum for the past week or so but have yet to post. My surgery is on Tuesday the 10th. I've been on the pre-op diet the last 2 weeks (5 Protein bars, broth, sugar free jello) and it's been rough... today feels like the worst day, for some reason. I've already lost 40 lbs pre-op since September. Tomorrow is broth and sugar free Jello only and I have a conference to attend. I really wish I had taken the day off, as I'm exhausted and very weak to begin with. I'm starting to get a little scared. Any words of advice? Thanks all.
