Anyone in illinois in the Chicago area- revision to Rny on 3-2-15

Thanks, I need some support. Not much at home. My boyfriend did not want me to have the revision. He said it will be like all the diets you go on. Then I had the surgery on the 2nd of March and had a few complications, and of course, he said, see I told you so. You shouldn't have had it. I had what is called "endo stitch". They went down my throat to do sutures in my stomach to make it smaller. The surgeon that did it is not the surgeon who did the original bypass in 2000 so had no idea how that surgeon had done the bypass. I guess some bypasses are done by totally separating the old portion and some are just staple lines. Because mine was just a staple line, the intestine got perforated by accident. I was,in the hospital for five days, but am fine now. Just treated it with antibiotics and nothing by mouth for five days. It gave the intestine time to heal on its own without having to do another surgery. What kind of revision are you having? -

Another thing you can do is add a half teaspoon of sugar free jello powder to your protein drink. So if you want a orange dreamcicle you could use two scoops of vanilla protein powder, a cup of water, a half teaspoon of orange sugar free jello powder and ice in a blender. Yum! -
I just want to say........

I think in order for all of us to be successful at what we are trying to accomplish, we have to be positive and have the right attitude and that includes encouraging others and being helpful. What goes around comes around! Keep up the good work and attitudes! -
My doc told me no caffeine. And no it would nor count toward water because caffeine dehydrates you.

Revision to gastric bypass surgery-need some advise
Boblee posted a topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had a revision to a gastric bypass done in 2000 exactly one week ago. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who has had "endo stitch" revision to Rny gastric bypass? I am needing to find out what you are eating and how much? -
8 months out, grieving my dad, and struggling
Boblee replied to tiredmama's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Tired momma - I too lost my dad recently, November 28th. So I know the feelings that are hitting you. For me sometimes I would be ok then out of the blue a memory or thought would bring it to the forefront. Those times are tough but what I do sometimes is this. I get on my elliptical, tears streaming down my face and the whole time I am on the elliptical I say a mantra "dad, this is for you, I can't do it for me right now, but to honor you and to show you that I did not give up on our dreams". I just keep saying that over mad over the whole time. You are grieving. That is normal and healthy. Eating sweets and chips would have probably had your dad frowning at you. Let's make him smile!
