Will be 66 when having surgery
Jazziejt replied to StabMyFinger's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
I am 60, surgery was this year August, 2015 this was the best decision I ever made. I am one of the those people who need a wake up call. I am more aware of understanding how and what kind of foods that work with my body. This is a life changing surgery for me. I am really excited about reaching my weight goal of 140, the doc say 160. I want to say congrats to anyone that has made this decision to have surgery. -
What helped you eat slower?
Jazziejt replied to _Brooke_'s topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a fast eater as well, before my surgery I got a smart spoon and fork that help me then. After the surgery I forgot and ate to fast; all I got to say to that is, lesson learn the hard way. -

I was just searching the site for people in my age group and you. I notice you stated your surgery was this year. How are you doing after surgery? -
Your story was really encouraging for me. All the things you say was hard to do, I am suffering now, so I can really identify. Thanks for sharing.

I was told by my bariatric group leader; because she had a good track record of the skin rash, etc... and going to the dermatologists, not treating herself. She was able to get the insurance company to pay for a tummy tuck. So I am planning to do the same.

Band to bypass approved today
Jazziejt replied to taysidebell's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Just had meeting with surgeon on May 29, 2015, my surgery date is August 5, 2015. I started this journey last year in November 2014, researching, classes, etc. I am ready, more excided than afraid. I have second guess myself at times, but it doesn't last long. The only concern I do think about is the extra skin, but at the end of the day I am going for better health. -

Your story sounds like mines, just tried of being tried. I just finished 3-4 months of behavior health and healthy eating classes. waiting for final approval and then I can make an appointment with my surgeon and get a date, can hardly wait. Will keep in touch and compare progress reports, if that's okay with you.

Will This EVER Go My Way? Feeling Helpless
Jazziejt replied to rayn0825's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You are juggle a lot of responsibilities at once; that's prove how strong you are. Just remember you can only put one foot in front of the other. I pray you have family support, you will need it for sure after your surgery. Know at the end of the day, its all for you to be healthier for you, your husband and kid. Hang in there,
