I too was banded on 5/6 and am getting hungry. I am still on full liquids until 5/27, then pureed foods for 2 weeks. My first fill is scheduled for June 27. I hope I don't gain back what I lost by then. Even on liquids I have stopped loosing. :rolleyes2: Hang in there!!!

I'm sure you will do fine. I have had several surgeries and this was by far the easiest. It is pretty quick, so you aren't under for very long. I wasn't even very sore after and didn't have the gas pains I've heard about. I just kept thinking "My chances are better with the surgery than without". Keep thinking about all the good things that are coming for you after the surgery and the surgery itself as a stepping stone to get there. GOOD LUCK!

Rascal, You should visit the support group for the May bandsters. They have a list of everyone in May and their date. I like it because we are all going through the same thing at about the same time. Good Luck!! I'm May 6. -
New to this..and getting all the negative remarks

THANKS BECKN!! I know I am doing the right thing. I do have a lot of support from co-workers who have had WLS and my mom. They do have a support group at the clinic, but it is an hour away and with gas prices and busy schedules I haven't made it there yet. I just made up my mind today that I'm going to worry about myself for a change. I am 47 and have been worrying about every one else my whole life. My youngest at home is 16, and getting pretty independent. So, I'm ready - a week from tomorrow!!!! -
New to this..and getting all the negative remarks

Well, here is my support problem - my husband! He is also overweight and scheduled for surgery on 5/29. My surgery is 5/6. He was all "yes, lets do this" and "I can't wait to be normal instead of fat". But when we actually got to the pre-adm testing and scheduling a date, his enthusiasm started declining. He won't stop smoking, he hasn't even starting watching his diet (he should loose 20 lbs. before surgery). I have been trying and he isn't supporting that either. He is even complaining because I want my exercise bike in the living room. I'm not sure if he is scared of the surgery or scared of the future because it will be different !! Any suggestions on how to motivate him - or not let him unmotivate me! -
I live in southern Ohio, but will be having my surgery in Columbus, Ohio on May 6.
