@@pansy63 I have used Isopure unflavored powder Protein mix. I am currently using GENEPRO Protein Powder. I purchased both on Amazon.com. Although both of these products advertise "unflavored," there is a noticeable "flavor." However, it is not as bad as the fake sugar mixes. The Genepro is best for me. It has 30 mg of protein in just one tablespoon and can be mixed in hot or cold foods and liquids.

@@NoMoreFatGuy I hope that you will start to have a brighter outlook soon. You did the right thing getting the surgery. Please don't regret it. I am 5 1/2 weeks out and I have had some ups and downs, but all in all I am extremely glad that I had the surgery. You will be thrilled when you clothes start falling off! That is the fun part! I have to go "shopping" in my basement every 2 weeks! It's not easy, but be patient. I hope you have a better night tonight.

I had hernia repair at same time as VSG. I did have GERD before surgery and was on 1 Omeraprazole a day. At my 1 week check-up my surgeon increased my dosage to 2 per day because I was having a lot of stomach acid causing me to have foaming saliva and I was having stomach spasms. I stopped using Protein drinks and powders containing artificial sugar and I stopped eating foods (yogurt, Jello, popsicles, etc.) with artificial sugars and the frothy, foamy saliva problem went away and my stomach feels a lot better. I am not sure if it's because of the increased dose of Omeraprazole or not. Anyway, she wants me to take the increased dose for 3 months and then she will re-evaluate me. I have no pain at all from the surgery.

I am 5 weeks post-op. @@Hertsukfem31 It sounds like from what you are saying, "I'm suddenly yo-yoing between 224-226 for the past week," that you are weighing yourself every day. I don't think you are in a stall. When you start eating solid food your weight, for some reason starts to slow down. You will probably start losing 2-3 pounds per week for a couple of weeks. I would suggest you get your Protein up to 70 mg or higher.

Pain on side of abdomen after strretching

I wouldn't be too concerned about a "dull" pain, but if you are worried, see your family doctor. -

My stomach gurgles and I am 5 weeks out. I think it is just the food pushing the air up and down in my stomach. -
@@christylynn72 Hi there! We have the same surgeon! Dr. Lamasters is great, isn't she?! I am 5 weeks out and am still suffering exhaustion. I have to nap every day. I get in all of my Water and Protein, but not the exercise so much. The bad taste left my mouth after I quit eating and drinking stuff with artificial sweeteners. I now use unflavored protein powder. The bad taste will go away after you start eating a bigger variety of foods. I still have yuk-mouth in the morning though. Go to the support meeting next Saturday and ask the nutritionist about the fatigue.

@@miller1109 Well I guess you made your decision then. Caffeine it is! I am 52 EVERYTHING I drink makes me pee. I pee about every 1 1/2 hours. And I work for a urologist. Water intake=urine output. So I doubt caffeine could possibly make it any worse. I did drink coffee with caffeine today and all it did was speed me up. No acid so I guess for me it was ok.

One other thing to consider is the amount of time you will be sitting on your flight. You will need to get up and move around frequently to keep your blood flowing properly. I have heard of people developing blood clots in their legs from long flights. You might ask your doctor about a blood thinner.

Caffeine makes you pee. Caffeine is acidic. You don't want acid in your stomach. You don't want to drink your Water for nothing.

Just about 10 months post op- how can i jump start the scale again?
TammyDTM replied to mi75's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
@@mi75 I'm newly sleeved, but I have read many post here on BariatricPal and some of the seniors would ask: How often do you exercise? What exercises do you do? Are you meeting your Protein and Water goals? If you are sedentary most of the day you might not need so many calories. Some people have sit-down jobs. You don't burn too many calories just sitting. That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure some bariatric hero's will chime in with suggestions. -

I was on liquids for 2 weeks, pureed for 2 weeks and soft foods after that. I was cleared today to eat whatever I feel comfortable eating. I am still taking things slowly. I don't "test" my new stomach by trying to eat more than what is recommended for me at this time. I eat about 1/2 cup of food at each meal and have a snack of cheese, cottage cheese or soft fruit for in between meal Snacks. Only 2 snacks per day though. I am on target with my Water and my Protein which is the most important thing. Take your time with food. It will be there later when your stomach is fully healed. You don't want any leaks or infections. Be very careful with yourself.

Congratulations! You can really tell the difference! I lost a lot of weight very quickly. The hospital stay added 17 pounds of Fluid that I had to get rid of before I could even start counting my weight lost from day of surgery! I have slowed to 2 lbs a week for the past 2 weeks, but I am still losing and glad for the loss. I have always gotten in my Protein and Water and I don't test my stomach by trying to force more in than what my nutritionist and doctor recommends. I am taking things slow and learning to eat clean and healthy. Keep up the good work! You are very close to goal already!

GENEPRO (available on Amazon) is an unsweetened Protein powder that packs 30 mg of protein in just one tablespoon. You can put it in anything you eat or drink.

Choose one day of the week for weigh day and stick to it. You are stressing over .2 and .4 weight gain. Think about it, is it really that significant? Unless you are weighing naked the weight difference could be your clothing. If you weigh after your shower it could be wet hair. It could be your scale. I hope you can stop stressing. Stress makes you make poor choices that leads to weight gain.
