2 Tablespoons of Food. Really?
TammyDTM replied to Slimsoon1988's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@DisforDavid My NUT had the same requirements regarding the eat for 20 minutes and then stop. In the 20 minutes I was able to eat about 2 oz of food and felt very full (at 2 weeks). -
@@laurenella82 You look so nice in your black dress. You put me in the mind of Sherri Shepherd. Have you heard that before? Anyway, you keep up the good work!

Sleeping on your side right after surgery?
TammyDTM replied to MissLiss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have always been a side sleeper. I slept on my side in the hospital right after I got to my room. No problems. I guess I was very lucky and my surgeon was very skilled. I did not suffer much pain at all. -
I think that if you use the Protein drinks for a couple of weeks (3 per day) and get in your 64 oz of Water, you will be too full to be concerned with what other people are eating. Also, it sounds like your doctor isn't too concerned with your stomach healing. You need to remember that your stomach is still in the healing process and introducing new foods with different consistencies at too rapid pace is not good. Even though "he" said it's okay, you can still make up your own mind to take things slowly. I hope you will learn to handle yourself around people who are eating things that you can't right now. Remember, eventually you will be able to eat what everyone else is eating, in moderation.

I am now 4 weeks at the same weight... I have cut carbs to under 30g. Was previously having about 45 to 50. I guess that was too many?
-
So, I have been at the same weight for the past 3 weeks. I am nowhere near my surgeons calculated weight loss estimate, nor my own goal. I know that "stalls" are common and can happen frequently before goal is reached. I understand and I accept that fact. HOWEVER, in the back of my "illogical" mind, I think I am panicking. Mind you, I am only 6 weeks out from surgery! Are you like me? Do you wonder when you get in a stall that lasts 3 weeks or more, "Is this it?" "Is this all I am going to lose?"

TammyDTM replied to JM1997's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 8 weeks out and I am cold all of the time. I wear a sweater in the house and extra blankets on my bed at night. I also have to put a heating pad on my knees several times a day and at bedtime. -

Overnight bag? What did you pack?
TammyDTM replied to MissLiss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was in the hospital for 2 days and never thought about my cell phone or IPAD. Besides the items you listed I took undies and a pair of pajama pants and footies. Although I wore the footies the hospital provided. -

I totally agree. Something is not right. I would demand answers asap! -
It sounds like you have a bladder infection.

If you had a hernia repair your opening may be a little restricted. You may be eating too soon after drinking. It could be that you are not chewing your food good enough or trying to swallow too much at one time.

2 wks Post-Hard to eat! Feeling weak & shaky
TammyDTM replied to LeeRN's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You should call your sugeons office asap and speak with a nurse. There are several possible reasons for your weakness. In the meantime, it wouldn't hurt to drink some G2 and eat some pureed fruit and cream Soups. I hope you have someone home with you... -
Post op- Prescriptions for pain/etc? and living by myself
TammyDTM replied to MissLiss's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My doctor gave my husband written prescriptions and he got them filled after he got me home and settled in. I was able to move without pain, I wasn't sick at all and I could take care of myself if I needed to. I don't think you should anticipate any problems. But it is good that someone will be checking in on you daily. -
I usually have a feeling of fullness at about 1/2 to 2/3 cup. Unless it is meat or eggs. I get full before I can eat a whole scrambled egg! However, I can eat 2 fried over-easy eggs. It just depends on the volume of the food I am eating.

I have been swallowing my medications whole since day of surgery. I have no problem. Each pill, one at a time with a small swallow of Water.

There are many workouts on youtube that you can do if you don't want to buy workout DVD's. Also, put on some music and dance! Playing music uplifts your soul which in turn uplifts your mood. I hope you find a way to get back on track soon! We all support you in your efforts! -
