    Confession

@@robym123 You've just begun your journey. Why would you feel you might not be successful so early on? I hope that you will read some positive comments and advice on this website and maybe join a bariatric support group in your area so that you can develop a more positive outlook for yourself. Think, trust, and believe the best for yourself!

Just went to doctor 8 days out

Well alright then! I'm glad you're so happy! Congratulations!
  3. You shouldn't have a "full" feeling at the stage you are at now. You don't want to feel "full" believe me... I am a little over 2 months post and I never eat until I feel full. Measure your food and stop when you are done. As long as you are eating the amount of food your NUT recommends and are getting in your Protein and Water you'll be fine.

Be sure to keep drinking no matter what!
  6. I do have better flexibility with the weight loss. I am still on 5mg of prednisone. I don't need pain pills as often as before. Getting more exercise is a big help along with the weight loss. Read some other posts here on BP regarding what to expect after surgery. I didn't have pain from my incisions, but suffered gas pain quite a bit those first 3 or 4 days. After that the gas disguised itself as hunger. Don't fall for it! If you aren't on a PPI, get on one if you experience that. You will also be very fatigued. Mine lasted about 5 weeks, but it's all good now. Look forward to your surgery and keep a positive attitude! You'll be alright!

    Surgery Date May 19! :-)

Congratulations! I would suggest you start trying out some Protein drinks and find a few that you like. Also, if you haven't been walking, you should start now. It will make your recovery easier. Get in about 30 minutes every day if you can.
  9. I have SLE and was on 10mg of prednisone prior to surgery. My surgeon told me she wanted me down to only 5mg by surgery date (Feb 25). I told my rheumatologist and he weaned me down 4 months prior to surgery. There were also a couple of medications that my surgeon wanted me off of by surgery and by coordinating with my PCP it was done. My surgeon went over all of my medications and gave me a list of them with instructions on what to take and what not to take. Your surgeon will probably do the same with you. Just be sure to ask questions.

    Pouch pain

Nsaids are not good for your new stomach. My PCP took me off of them when we started considering the surgery last year. You might want to talk with your doctor to see if there is something else you can take. I do know that Naprosyn does help with cramps because that's what I used (back in the day), but I am hoping that you can find relief another way. If not, maybe some Prilosec would help.

    African American vsgers!

Hi Dione, Congratulations on your decision to be a healthier you! I would suggest you walk a lot and do some extra strength training on your lower body. I have been doing a lot of walking and have lost a lot of inches off of my hips and thighs. I am apple-shaped and I wish the inches would leave faster from my upper body. Especially my stomach. Oh boy! Everyone says that the stomach is the last to go. I can't wait for it's exit!

    Sleeved April 28

I also had a hernia repair and had that "just done a bunch of sit-ups" feeling. I kinda liked it. I imagined my stomach on its way to getting toned.

    Feeling blue? Time to "Baby-Up"!

Well now that the weather is nice I get out in the yard. There's plenty to do in the spring. Turning dirt over and adding compost for flower and vegetables. Pulling weeds. Inventorying rabbit damage over the winter. Planting. Cutting grass. Nature walks. There are no refrigerators or cabinets outdoors!

    Dietician

I had a follow-up one week after surgery, one month after surgery, another one coming up mid-May, and then in six months, 2 times, and yearly after that. Appointments are with the surgeon or her PA, the nutritionist and the exercise therapist. Ours is a "center of excellence."

  23. Try taking Vitamin E. I wash my face with Dove Beauty Bar and moisturize with Ponds. You can moisturize with Coconut Oil at bedtime after you wash your face. Coconut oil is also good for removing makeup.

I snack on babybel cheese, cottage cheese, beef sticks or beef Jerky. Another solution - GO TO BED!
