Hi, ya'll! I had gastric bypass 22 years ago. I lost 100 lbs. I've had pretty good success over these years. My biggest challenge was when I got pregnant with twins 15 years ago. They took a toll on my vitamin depleted body and absorbed most of my nutrients when I ate. Once the twins were born, I went into congestive heart failure and was not expected to live through the night. Apparently, God wasn't finished with me yet. I recovered. Now my biggest issue is that I have severe osteoporosis from malabsorption and I'm only 48. I don't regret the surgery by any means. I just wish I had followed the "rules" to a tee to ensure my continuous health. So if you are new to this surgery, take care of yourself.
