    POST OP DRAIN

I didn't have a drain or a catheter. Each surgeon has their way of doing things. I was concerned about this too. I called my surgeons office and he explained he didn't use catheters/drains.

    Pills you say?

Check with your surgeon. I was given pills the same day as my surgery, that night. Just be sure to cut them up if they are large. I take Ambien at night and post op it doesn't seem to be as effective. I believe it's due to not being able to fully dissolve before its passed through. We were also told some extended release pills are not as effective post op. I'm almost 2 months post op and the majority of the meds I take are pills. I got tired of the gummies and chewables.

Headache is still with me. Hospital today

Are you getting all of your fluids in? A lot of headaches can be caused by dehydration. Immidiately after surgery plain water didn't sit well with me. (Very common.) I was using flavor packets to help. The aspartame in them was causing me horrible headaches. Also if you're still on pain meds some can cause rebound headaches. Try an ice pack to your forehead or heat on your neck/shoulders. The anesthesia can also cause a terrible headache.

    December Sleevers

I was sleeved 12/22. I've a total of 51lbs including the 15lbs during the 2 week pre op liquid diet. I hit the dreaded 3 week stall and it lasted a good 2-3 weeks. Super frustrating. But I can tell my body is reshaping itself, especially my tummy. I drink around 100oz of fluid a day, get in 60-70g of protein, track EVERYTHING using My Fitness Pal, and walk 2-3 miles 4-5 times a week. I've also been doing squats, lunges and other exercises to shape up my legs and booty. During the stall I would change up the foods I was eating and the exercise. It seemed to help. It can be discouraging but just remember if you're following your program you WILL lose and the sleeve will do it's job. Congrats on your 26lb loss! Best wishes!

    Good pillow

I would definitely recommend a body pillow. Especially if you're a side sleeper or tummy sleeper. As the weight comes off you don't have as much cushion. I'm 2 1/2 months post op and it's really hard for me to get comfortable. I'm debating on getting a pregnancy pillow.

    Is this dumping syndrome?

I loved drinking regular milk pre op. However post op I became lactose intolerant. I'm a little over 2 months post op and I still can't tolerate regular milk unless I take some Lactaid. I now use almond and soy milk. I've also recently tried Lactaid milk and I really like it. Tastes just like milk but w/o the lactose.
