Any April Sleevers?
MoMo12onTheGo replied to mis4may's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@CandyCrushVSG .. Hi CandyCrush.. You will only benefit yourself the sooner you get used to our new life. The more you lose now, the less there is for later. You should always ask your surgeon, but it seems only good can come from the two week prep time. -
Any April Sleevers?
MoMo12onTheGo replied to mis4may's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good afternoon, folks! I noticed a few people saying they have less than a two week liquid diet pre-op. I was told I am required to do that because it shrinks your liver and make surgery safer and aids in a quicker recovery. I know everyone is different as are their surgeons, but you may want to Inquire at your next visit. Wishing everyone the very best outcome and quick recovery. -
The Least I can Weigh on Surgery Day?
MoMo12onTheGo replied to MoMo12onTheGo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm very concerned. And from reading it seems not everyone's weigh in on surgery day means much, but we seem to be in the same boat, Ocean. -
Any April Sleevers?
MoMo12onTheGo replied to mis4may's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone!! My insurance changed their requirements so I am now only required to do 3 months rather than 6 so I am rushing to complete everything by 3/17. That's the last time I see my surgeon and he will submit to insurance on that day. I've been told, based on that, I will have surgery in April. I REALLY want/need people to go through this with so would love to be part of your little group here. -
Therapist says "You can do it w/o surgery"
MoMo12onTheGo replied to MoMo12onTheGo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
She is a Master Level (per requirements) and I get to pay her $150 (per visit) out of pocket.. ohhhh the joys LOL -
The Least I can Weigh on Surgery Day?
MoMo12onTheGo replied to MoMo12onTheGo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Elode, thank you for responding..What you said does make sense, but my confusion would then be that I was told I would be weighed on the day of surgery. Hmm.. I guess that's one more questions for the surgeon. Thank you for helping. And holy wow! Great stats -

My 600 pound life
MoMo12onTheGo replied to holliwood1980's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I admit it, I am also addicted to My 600lb Life. I go through a gambit of emotions from feeling sad for them to being angry. Why oh why put your family and yourself through so much just to eat the way you did prior to the surgery? I personally believe they, maybe anyone getting WLS, needs some therapy to discuss how things got out of control and to address those issues in depth. It also gives the person one more person to be accountable to in a sense and anyone that out of control, needs accountability when trying to make changes. -
Sleeve size?
MoMo12onTheGo replied to cosmogirl2535's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@cosmogirl2535 ... I asked my surgeon about this today.. He makes a final decision once he is in there, but generally he said it's a long tube shape that if you balled it up would be about the size of an egg. Hope that helps -
I'm honest, but should I lie? Did you?
MoMo12onTheGo posted a topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi everyone. I'm new and have oodles of questions, but this one is at the top of my list. Previously, I lost 80 pounds (have now gained 50 back) and I did it the long and hard way with a trainer and a food journal. At the same time, my previous neighbor got Gastric Bypass and all I could think was that if I had let myself go so far that I considered going under the knife, it was time for some major changes to get myself under control. 8 years later, she had a 2nd surgery getting a lapband put in and is very thin and I am back to sleep apnea and obesity. sigh... I just don't know if I want to tell everyone I know what I am doing. The weight loss will be so rapid it will surely be obvious and I'm not the dishonest type, but there is a weird stigma about surgery being the easy way. Anyone I've even discussed this with has the collective mind of, "Yeah, then you don't even have to do anything." We all know that isn't true and this is a major life change and NOT and easy decision. Any advice is appreciated.. anyone? -

I appreciate your support and responses. I am heading out now to my first of 3 psych appointments and have asked my sister to ride with me as the Dr. office is 90m from me. After reading all of this, I've decided to tell her the truth and just be honest with everyone. I need as much support as I can get so I suppose the ones that have attitude or are negative can just fall by the way side.. Thank you! -
May Sleevers...where are you?

May Sleevers...where are you?
MoMo12onTheGo replied to bvenegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@bvenegas ... I had the opposite experience with my insurance. At my last weigh in I was told in 2015 my insurance now only requires 3months rather than 6 so everything was moved up. Talk about a feeling of a PHYSICAL fast forward lol.. I was excited at first, but after having a week to think about it.. I am nervous and feel ill prepared mentally.. -

MoMo12onTheGo replied to bvenegas's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi 'MAY SLEEVERS'.. I'm new to this site and "one of you." .. I've not been given my actually date yet, just told it will be in May. It seemed SO far away and now I am nervous as if it's coming up so fast. I have a million questions so signed up for this site tonight hoping to find fellow sleevers so am glad to see you all here! I have a few things left to do. Blood work, EKG, Chest X-ray and 3required visits with a therapist discussing my 28 year relationship ending in divorce. Apparently, that affected me somehow? lol .. With all of the other hoops I've jumped through, I feel like these last few things are small.
