    Awesome NSV

These are just amazing! Congratulations. Where did you get your plastic surgery done?
  6. I too have been going through a difficult time. I totally understand the "why should I keep doing this...nothing really matters". BUT IT DOES. It is good that you are crying. It is good to be angry or experience whatever emotions you are feeling. Sometimes life is not fair. But-- the one thing in your life that you can control is what you put into your mouth. You need to feel these emotions and handle them in a healthy way and keep strong. You have made such wonderful progress and need to keep doing this for yourself. You are worth it- it will get better. Write yourself a note where you would like things to be in 6 months. Seal the envelope and write the "to be opened date" on the front. You'll be surprised how much better things will look when you go back and open it. Good luck! You are strong.

    Are pity parties allowed?

You can definitely have a pity party! Who said Life is Fair. Embrace those feelings and work through them. (in the past, many of us would "eat our emotions". I am trying to actually embrace my feelings now and know that these are normal. I just don't need to numb these with food. So... yell a little, acknowledge how unfair it is and then eat something healthy, exercise and move on. (of course this is easier said than done but our new healthy selves know that we can do it!)

    Sleeve vs Gastric

Same for me. I probably should have done WLS years ago but the malabsorption with bypass made me nervous. So sleeve it is
  10. I am just finishing up my 6 months too! I was supposed to have my final NUT apt next Wednesday. When I went through my paperwork I realized that they had scheduled my 6 NUT visits each 4 weeks apart. So I would be short a week on my 6 months.... I just switched my appointment to the 26th....I didn't want to take the chance of insurance saying it had to be exactly 6 months and then be short just a few days! (So maybe I am getting a little crazy too!) I don't want anything to possibly be a reason they can deny me. CLR715- we are in this together! we will both keep our fingers crossed.
  11. You can do it. The decision to have WLS isn't something you did haphazardly. You researched it, prepared for it and now you are ready!
  12. I haven't had my surgery yet but have lost almost 50 pounds pre-op. My resting heart beat is always in the 60's now. (started in the 80s) I was told that my heart didn't have to work as hard now that I am losing weight. But...it is always good to monitor it and share info with your doctor. (I have the fitbit Charge HR so I can check it whenever I want.)

    Finally Onederland!

Doing the happy dance for you! Way to go! Where are your stats?
  14. I would check with your insurance company. Mine allows the surgery to take place within 6 months of approval. That way you would have peace of mind in making your decision. If you delay, that doesn't mean that you can't continue to lose weight before the surgery. It will make the surgery that much easier when you have it. Good luck! My daughter just had a baby two weeks ago and is still in the hospital. Caring for a little one is exhausting and you are the only one who can make this difficult decision.

What a difference a year makes

I haven't been sleeved yet (hopefully soon since my last appt. is August 26th). By I have lost 47+ pounds on my supervised diet. I am able to walk 8000 steps a day which would have been impossible when I started. I can actually clean my house without getting a horrible back ache. It is the little things but I am so glad I have started on this journey and am looking forward to being "on the other side" with all of you!

    Time to reset!

I think 60 pounds in 4 months is wonderful! Remember that you want to remain healthy while doing this. You'll get to your goal before you know it.

I also am amazed that they just adjust ALL the dimensions the same. It is always amazing to me how huge the neck openings always are!
  18. Hope you can all relate--- I've been doing my supervised diet since March 1st. (Lost 45 Pounds-- woo hoo) Well, my daughter just had a baby- she is bipolar and the hormone change pushed her into an episode. We've been scrambling to care for the baby and get her committed. In my old way of coping I would have made a batch of cookie dough or something.... Well, I don't have any of that stuff in my house anymore. Scoured the cabinets and my only sweet thing that I could have was a prune! But... it was amazing how one little prune (or should I say "dried plum") could satisfy my sweet craving. (And guess what-- I only ate one--not the whole box!)

    1st day post op

Fantastic! It is nice to hear that you are feeling well. Looking forward to watching your progress!
  20. It will be so nice when we are also on the surgery list! Woo Hoo-- it is coming soon.
  21. This is so exciting that everyone is getting their dates! I still have to wait until Aug 19th for my final NUT appt. Then they will submit to insurance. Hope I will know my date in a month or so. So happy for all of you! We are finally getting close!

    My Story

So sorry to hear about all the difficulties you had to go through. Hopefully your health is doing much better and the worst is behind you. It is a good reminder for all of us the realize that this is a serious procedure and that sometimes things can and do go wrong. Keep up the good work and eventually you will make it to goal. This isn't a race it is a journey.

    I'm in!

Congratulations! You'll be surprised how fast things go. I found out I needed to have 6 months supervised diet and I was bummed. Now I am actually 43 pounds lighter and my last NUT appointment is August 19th! Welcome to the journey!
