Don't you find it frustrating to compare lbs lost? We all have such different body types, starting points, amount to lose, etc. I think it would be a little more apples-to-apples to discuss as % of excess weight lost. For example, I have lost 83 of 137 excess lbs, so I have lost 60.5% of my excess weight. Anyone with me on this?

Can you do capsules? I couldn't stand the chewables either so I started taking the Celebrate capsules (auto-ship on Amazon) and have been sooooo much happier!

Christian sleevers any the just had...
TealSister replied to lachellove's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Following. I'm active in church activities, but feel I'm missing something in my faith life. I have joined a bible study group that starts next month. I'm hopeful that will be a bridge. -
Totally get it. I now just let them bring me a Water - it saves a lot of confusion HATE not being able to take a small sip with meals. It does get a little easier (in my vast 5 months of experience). Hang in there!!

Can I have regular coffee?
TealSister replied to avRose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My rules are no caffeine ever again. That being said, I have had 3 cups of coffee and 4 Starbucks Protein drinks (TERRIBLE CHOICE) in 4.5 months. -
Prayers sent. This surgery is a gift!

Did you start drinking more "coffee" after WLS?
TealSister replied to NotMyCircus's topic in The Gals' Room
What does "coffee" mean? I clicked on this topic because I was having my 3rd cup of coffee in 5 months and feeling guilty. Guess I mis-clicked? -
In response to OP... I am almost 5 months post-op and did not attempt any alcohol consumption until last week on a family vacation. I haven't even been tempted to drink and have been just fine being the DD when out with family and friends. It's funny how much more confident I feel already - less liable to drink to have that liquid courage to "be me". Last week on vacation, I had a few sips of white wine one night and a crystal light / vodka two times. I felt a buzz, but like others have said, it went away rather quickly. It wasn't anything earth-shattering and I don't know if I'll do it again. If I do, I will stick to the vodka/water/flavor.

Thank you for sharing your story. Unfortunately, I'm sure many of us can relate to all or part of it. Best wishes in your continued success with life and your new WLS journey!

What are Your Top NSV's after Weight Loss Surgery?
TealSister replied to joatsaint's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My pedicures don't take forever!! I don't have a huge pile of heel when I'm done! -
Just what we normally would (within boundaries). I will probably have juice before and after to be safe.
-
I regularly donate as well. I tried to donate at 2 months post-op but I clotted up after about 5 minutes. Honestly I was scared I wouldn't even pass the pre-screening but hate to not donate. I asked my surgeon about it afterwards and they said that after 12 months I should be able to donate again. Good luck!!

8/3/15 = 220 lbs Thanks!

I had just started soft foods, so I had refried Beans - while my skinny sister ate a chicken chimi, chips & queso and a jumbo marg.

Hamburgers are gross
TealSister replied to chunkyloverlovesyou's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
When I chew-chew-chew hamburger, I get so disgusted with the little balls of fat left in my mouth that I end up spitting it out. The joys of WLS -
I'm with @@AC274132 - think it's due to Vitamin deficiency. Checking with my PCP (surgeon doesn't do blood work until 6 months). I'm four months post op and take a quick nap every work day during my lunch break.

Awesome! Great inspiration for all of us!

I sometimes get offended reading responses. However if I step back and reflect, it's usually just a defensive reaction. If I am feeling guilty about a poor choice I have made and read a "shaming" comment, sure I get a little worked up. Taking a moment to think about WHY I find it offensive and where I am with my daily goals, most times I can come to respect the "offensive" comment and take away something useful from a vet. We are all on the same journey!

Surgery 3/26/15 HW: 302 CW: 228 (-74) It is sooooo crazy how if I eat bad foods (bad, bad girl), I don't feel full, but a half a scrambled egg or 3 bites of grilled chicken make me belch like crazy because I am FULL. Obviously this is how I hit 302. It's getting a lot easier to live my new life but I could always use more exercise. Lots of great NSVs Great job, everyone!!! ---- One more thing -- how the H does low-fat vanilla yogurt have 40 grams of sugar and honey roasted peanuts have 4 grams? The sugar content of foods has definitely been eye-opening.
