    SV - Happy Day

Happy Monday! Today is a scale Victory day. I am just over seven months post-op and made it to 100 pounds gone forever Maybe I should have waited for three more pounds because that will be onederland -- first time since getting married 11 years ago. I passed through the categories of Obese II and Obese I and recently entered the "overweight" category. 37 pounds to go, but this feels great! It's month-end at work and a Monday to boot, but I can't help smiling today THANK YOU to members of this site for your inspirations and words of wisdom as I am unable to attend my surgeon's support groups. You ARE relevant

The first picture is one day before surgery and obviously the second is at 6 months. I have only lost 5 lbs since then, but it got me to -100 lbs. My regular counselor has referred me to a different counselor who specializes in eating disorders. Hopefully that helps keep me on track. We are all doing great!

    serious question for fellow "veterans"

So ya' called me a bully, and then deleted it? ! didn't even get to read it!!! Actually I said at first I *thought* you were a bully, but then learned to love ya! Then I got all nervous about butting in since I'm not a vet so I deleted.

What are you doing as far as daily goals/exercise? I'm 3/26, down 98 with 38 to go. Last month was only 5 lbs. I need to change something up, so helpful hints are welcome! Thanks

    Doc says no fruit--EVER

OP - my nutritionist / surgeon / bariatric center of excellence is on the same lines as yours. 1) Protein 2) veggies 3) "good" carbs 4) if there is any room left, moderate fruit (not never again, but pretty darn close) I rarely make it past protein and if I make it past there, the max I get to is veggies. Vegetable consumption is to increase, but there is no push for additional fruit consumption. As @@VSGAnn2014 stated, double check to make sure you fully understand your plan. My advice (for what it's worth) would be to follow your plan. Everyone's rules are different. NOTE: I do not follow my plan 100%, but I am consciously working on it!

    Old habits creeping back in!

Happening to me now, too. I'm 7 months today and I have been having dinner by myself while reading (after I've sat with and fed my family). Nuts, cheese, or Protein bar. Not *horrible* stuff (except for the occasional popcorn), but things that can be overdone by mindless munching with uncontrolled portions. I'm loving the coping strategies being shared!

    Current Non-scale Win

My daughter came into my bedroom looking for me this morning. She didn't see me in the bathroom because "your butt doesn't stick way out anymore!". Love it!

It's CRAZY going from a hot, sweaty mess to being chilled! I went through surgical menopause 3 years ago and it's the same for me. At times hot (but not sweaty-hot), and cold at times. Doesn't seem to be a great middle ground!

Taken summer of 2014. I' in the green shirt and thought I looked really good that day. *ouch*. I didn't crop anyone out because I thought I looked distorted, but the people by me don't. *ouch*

  16. @@VSGAnn2014 You are absolutely right. I have been seeing a counselor (who also had WLS) for the past five years. I have changed so much in that time. However, this weekend she referred me to a therapist who specializes in eating disorders. I've been slipping at 6.5 months. Not terribly, but enough to show me that I'm not emotionally strong enough yet to beat my ED demons alone. I really appreciate Lipstick Lady's mention of confidence vs arrogance. Sometimes on this board my own insecurities are pricked by certain posters. There is definitely a fine line between coming across as arrogant vs confident. Confidence in other posters makes me feel I will succeed, where as arrogance tends to make me feel stupid and doomed to failure. It's so strange. Bottom line, OP, you are not alone!

    Stomach gurgling?

    You are not alone!
  19. I'm no expert here - only six months out. However, I want to reiterate that you need to follow YOUR nut/surgeon guidelines. There are many on here that have no problems with straws, soda, coffee, alcohol, etc.and often share this information. Please keep in mind that it doesn't mean you should do the same. Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of struggles following "the plan". The plan is in place to ensure your success in this journey. Just my two cents. Best wishes to everyone!

I know... Me too... I was hoping to get to 100 lbs lost, now I'm hovering at 80 lbs, and think I might be done. Its been gradually slowing down for me. As much as I said I wouldn't make this about a number, I am so close, and I wanted to see that number on the scale I feel so much better than I did at this time last year! I have to keep reminding myself of that! This was the best decision I've ever made! Putting it in perspective - when was the last time you lost 80 lbs in six months?? THAT IS AMAZING!! Keep your chin (not chins) up - as you said this is the best decision you have ever made. The tool will keep working for us, it just might not be as fast as we want. Great job!!

    It works wraps

I signed up to be a distributor some time ago but haven't sold anything because I am not confident in the products. Since losing about 2/3 of the weight I need to lose, I have contemplated trying the wraps but haven't yet. I have started taking the Greens since I don't have room for veggies and fruits any more. My nut said that was fine. But like the others stated above, I would spend my $$ on something else. Just my two cents
