well that sure proved we are all on the same wavelength, like the one about the tweezers. and nothing to do with bands guy's but i just thought if you were american your nickname was yank like australians are aussie's but having said that over here i would be called a pommie b*****d and my friends could say it jokingly and thats fine but some have a sting in it, so please forgive us over here if we say the wrong thing its just a difference in expressions. Thanks for advice Kathy i tried yoghurt this morning great, i will go to address you gave now and read up
-

thanks so much for this thread its so good to read others problems and how they cope my marriage ended after 30 years although really it was over 3years before that, the last ten years of our marriage he made it really big in the building industry, now this could be my low self esteem again, but i think i was an embarrassment to his business associates i can't say for sure as he would never talk to me,its got to be worse than death i reckon at least when you partner dies they die loving you but when you still love someone and they don't love you it just breaks you inside, i'm sorry if i have rambled you could have got worse lol, but now i have my band to help me get fit and healthy maybe i can move on
-
just thought i would ask is it very common for the the band to cause erosion? and can that happen any time or just in the beginnning i didn't know about that
-
so sorry to read what you have been going through hope everything heals up quickly for you,

-
good luck Janet i was very nervous too so many emotions, but try and focus on the good things too look forward too
-
anyone got any ideas how i can get exercise that dosn't involved putting pressure on the knee's, i'm sure that must be part of the reason i am slower than most of the july bandsters thanks in advance jenny
-
hi pigi i don't actually now any one but when i was in my surgeon's office i asked that qustion as i was almost 53 and i had only heard of younger ones having it done here, and he said the lady that had walked past me going in was 70 and she had got it done last year because health wise she was like a 60-65 year old and she was desperate to get out and about with her grandkids, but at the end of the day you have to be guided by your surgeon, good luck with whatever path you decide on
-
i was petrified even when i saw surgeon i kept telling myself i could back out any time i wanted, right up to going under i kept that thought, but at 53 and being big all my life i just felt i wanted to spend the rest of my life like thinner people plus i want to travel the world and can't do that properly from a coach window, because my knee's are to sore to hold me up, keep thinking of all the positive's they far outweigh [ no pun meant] any nerve's we get
-
i was just wondering when are you not classed as a slow loser as i was on the july bandsters thread and most seem to be losing it faster than me,
-
Attention!!! Any July 2005 Bandsters
jenny replied to abrightfuture's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i had my band on 19 july 2005 i have only lost 16 lbs had my second fill 3 weeks ago it has restricted me a bit but i still go for the wrong stuff some of you are doing really good i tell myself even a pound is better than nothing keep happy everyone -
yeah i reckon all the names mentioned have had ops and as for scars why couldn't they use concealors when they are showing flesh they could afford the best stuff
-
well guys you have made me feel better if you think i might be losing quite fast, when i hear stories of people losing 25 -35 lbs over same time period as me i thought i was too slow and when you think 2.5 is 1kilo then thats pretty cool
