hi fleur maybe you won't get any wind pain not everyone suffer's it, that was a long time with no drink you might not be hungry for a few day's while your stomach is swollen bit please try and make sure you are drinking enough and if you can sip on the v8 juices you will be getting some vitamin's cos i don't suppose you can swallow a vitamin tab yet take thing's slowly and don't go running here there and everywhere as i know how hard it is with kid's ...regard's jenny

hiya this isn't about lap band but on the thread about carpet stains you were saying you had floorboard's put in which i am considering next year, are they really kid friendly, you know what they are like for running things along floor i never minded being on my kid's back but i don't like to do it to my grandkid's they are for spoiling lol, also what about when people come in with stilletto heel's, just trying to get all the pro's and con's ... jenny

thank's girl's thank's for the input, fleur so pleased it's all over for you, yeah i was in a fair bit of discomfort for a while but as long as i took the pain killer's it wasn't too bad i couldn't take the optifast really hated it just had the soup's ,up and go yoghurt's and v8 vegie juice, how you going with wind pain?
-
i was banded in july 2005 and was 53 in the august slow but sure and so far i havn't regretted one single day:clap2:
-
hiya just going over the post's see you have the mover's today only i can't figure out the time difference has it happened yet if so was it pretty calm?
-
i find since my third fill a couple of week's ago i can't eat chip's or bread roll's cake and bread[sliced] is not too bad if it's eaten very slow, so the band make's me satisfied with a whole lot less

hiya fleur it's natural to get the jitter's and doubt's before you go in probaly most of us have but every time i got like that i turned it into excitment, for the fact that NOTHING worked for me before and now no matter how slow it will go i will have a better quality of life i'm 54 this year and i want to enjoy the 20 or 30 or whatever years that i have with my grand-daughters. i just had my third fill a couple of weeks ago and i think i may have found the right spot, i havn't had any big prob's with mine and the fill's were fine just a funny sensation but no pain, i guess if there has been a problem with me it would be the flipping head but it's getting better i'll be thinking of you on thursday...regard's jenny

hiya all and welcome Heth this is a great site, yeah we have the same people i had mr hensman he his really lovely and i felt very confident in his capability as i am sure the other doc's are the same hopefully you get to the next bandsters meeting be great to catch, if not i think the melbourne group from here will have another catch up after school hol's over to Fee and Jess they set up the last one and it was great. fleur maybe being able to have other food with optifast make's it easier to deal with they didn't tell me i could have anything else i think maybe that;s one of the reason's i couldn't stick to it my head said poor me, i actually put on weight from being given the date and going in kept thinking i'll never be able to have this again which of course is ridiculous, when i went to doc i was 114kilo's when i went to hospital i was 116, well look at me rattling on have a good day all
-

Surgery scheduled for 2/23/06 - HELP!!!!
jenny replied to Diana Moragon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hi Diana first of all it's not just your prob we are all here together, i like you have been chubby since little tried every diet under the sun, i am 54 this year and have just passed menopause, the nurse at my clinic say's that could be one of the reason's i am slow at losing [ mind you i cheat now and again my fault not the band but i will get it ] i have lost 13 kilo's since july but it's 13 i KNOW i wouldn't have been able to lose without it and it won't go back on i could never say that before, i don't really care how slow because of my age maybe it won't sag too much as i am too much of a chicken to have plastic surgery...jenny -

jenny replied to Diana Moragon's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
hello Diana i don't know personaly of anyone being done that long but i was talking to a hairdresser a couple of month's ago who has had her band for four years and her mum for 5and a half both have never looked back, and one of my son's elderly friend's from his chuch know's of a very prominent melbourne family who's son had it done in his late teen's i think it was about 15 year's ago in sweden and he is fine and had no trouble i'm sorry i can't give you his name as it was told to me in confidence to help me and now i hope it has helped you in some way to decide good luck Diana and let us know how you go either way ...best wishes jenny -
yep i.m one of them though i'm probaly a good bit older than you after 30 years i' on my own for the past 6 and now the weight is starting to shift i was thinking along those lines myself but i met my ex when i was 16, and it's really daunting my kid's joke with me and say they'll take me out and show me what to do, but how do you step outside your comfort zone:eek:
