Houston or Dallas Area Surgeon Reccomendations

@iwant2becurvynotlumpy I am n Houston, and I am using Dr. Sheilendra Mehta (UT Physicians). I went to 2 different Doctors before I chose him. Dr. Fernando Miranda and Dr. Younan Nowzaradan. Dr. Mehta was the first surgeon to actually sit down with me and TALK to me. He didn't not walk in and tell me what he tell every patient. He asked me questions, he told me the good and the bad, and told me that no matter what I choose he feel I will succeed. He has a good track record. His nurse and patient advocate is amazing. And the office is really organized, which was one of the reasons why I left the other two doctors. And organized office says a lot to me. Whomever you choose just make sure you are comfortable that is what I was looking for I wanted to be happy when I left. I haven't had my surgery yet (hopefully in May) but I don't feel uneasy about him performing it. Good luck!

  5. I am pre-sleeved and I know this may be sort of a weird question but.... After surgery, how hard is it to adjust to eating, chewing, etc??????? I know you have to chew your food up, what are tips or tricks to that, or to remembering that??? I am currently a drinker while I eat...how did you adjust to that, I have heard you drink first then eat or vice versa???? Any ideas will be awesome! Thanks

I have two upcoming appointments, one with True Results, and the other with UT Physicians. Has anyone had their procedure done with this facilities? I am excited and nervous and just looking for advice and people to talk to. Thanks in advance and Best of Luck to everyone!

    BCBS OF TEXAS

Anyone have insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas? Once submitted to insurance how long did you have to wait for approval? I am one appointment away from getting it sent to insurance for approval and was told insurance has up to 30 days to approve it. I really hope they don't take that long...or does it?????

    Worried

Why will it be your only opportunity?
  13. What do you mean by your "stomach flipped" I haven't been sleeved yet so I am trying to get as much info as possible. I am in Houston also. Best of luck to you!

    BCBS OF TEXAS

Awesome! I just couldn't understand why it would take 30 days to approve if I have met all requirements! Hopefully mine will go over as smoothly as yours did! Thanks for the response!

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas?

I also have BCBS of Tx and the process with True Results was real simple. They don't really require a lot like other insurances do. They will approve if your BMI is above 40 or 41 I believe, or if its 38 or higher with comorbidities. If you meet the BMI qualifications they only require a PSYCH Evaluation and they a letter from a Dr (which True Results handled for me). Best of luck!
  16. I was told my True Results my Psychological Evaluation would take 2 hours. Are they really that long? What all do they ask? Just wondering...

    How old are/were you?

Will be 32 when I have mine

    POST OP DRAIN

wow that's a long time...is there a reason why it remains in so long? doesn't it risk infection?
