Depression after the Gastric Sleeve
sallyomalley67 replied to BigTink2LilTink's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am saying prayers for you right now hun. I am so sorry that you are feeling like this. Just take it minute by minute until you receive a call back from your doctor. If you cannot handle it til then, go to the hospital. They can draw bloodwork to see whats going on. And my antidepressants did not take that long to take effect. Do make sure to call your doctor and be totally honest with them. Hiding anything will not help you to get better, to feel better, or to be there for your family. Great big hugs -
Thank you for sharing that geelynn.

We know how that feels hun. Just remember you have to give your body time to heal. It will be well worth not having complications. -

Walk walk.walk pumpkin. It will relieve the gas much quicker. I have also heard that if u sip while standing it may be easier. Everything is a bit swollen for u right now. It will all calm down soon. Where is the gas pain at? -

Have you tried wearing the compression belt thingy they have u at the hospital? That will stop the constant pulling while standing and walking. Looks like an oversized ace bandage with velcro. -

I did gummi vitamins. No irritation. There are also liquid vitamins available as well. -
Most that lose well seem to stay with the 20gr or less of carbs.

Hi Nikki. Walking is your best bet. I hear a lot of folks get air up near their shoulder blades or neck. Walking will help to dissapate it.

I love your updates!!! Keep up the work girlie! You are on a roll!!! -
Most hospital stays are 1-3 days barring no complications other than perhaps a hernia repair. I was in for 2 days. Could have left at 1 day but chose to stay. I was one of the crazy ones that went back to work a few days after surgery. Wrong move. I made it thru about 3 days and slept non stop for a few days. Took this next week off. Its not the pain. Its the lack of energy as he said. Good luck! Keep us updated on your progress!
