    Shalee's October Overhaul

Sounds great!!! Glad to hear things are looking better!!!
  4. So I haven't had any restriction AT ALL for a couple of months now. I am usually very sensitive to fills. Doc only gives me .5 cc and I have had to have 2 unfills in the past for being too tight from that little amount. Now nothing. My last two fills were rather awkward and a bit painful. And he even put 1 cc each time. He had a hard time getting Fluid out to check and when he did, he said it was cloudy and replaced it with new. He couldn't really asnswer what would make this happen. He said maybe a kink in my tubing... but why would that make things cloudy??? I am certain something is going wrong here. Any ideas or similar experiences????
  5. Thanks so much for your input!!!!
  6. I so know that something is wrong... and what your doc says makes perfect sense since I have 6cc and last time he only pulled out 5cc. He said "sometimes some stays in there". I am so disappointed in him. I loved him up until this point.

I didn't go with Dr. Hoffman so I am not sure how they handle everything. All docs are so different. My surgery was about 8 months after I got the ball rolling. However, my doc and insurance required me to do a six month supervised diet first. I stayed in the hospital just overnight and went home the next day. I had to do a one week liquid diet prior to surgery. I lost 10 lbs. from that alone. I think they do this so you are prepared to do liquids after the surgery. Good luck!

I don't know much about hernias... but it seems from the posts on this site that many have had them fixed at the same time as this surgery. So I don't think it will be an issue. BCBS of WNY approved me first try. But I have an Erie, PA doctor who made me do the 6 months surpervised diet prior to submitting. I don't know if this is part of what made them approve so quickly or not???? I also only had 80lbs to lose, so that won't be an issue either. I say, go ahead and get your ball rolling. you sound like a good candidate to me!!!! Good luck!

  14. Sorry... I never did take good before and after pictures. But hopefully, these will show my progress. I have been at a horrible stand still for a few months now. My last couple of fills have also been unsuccessful as I still have no restriction. Boo Hoo! I am still doing great with working out... but need to stop snacking and manage my portions since the band is not kicking in right now. thanks for sharing everyone! Hard to believe its been a year!!!:tongue2:

    Medically Necessary?

After losing 60 lbs. and not even a full year out... BlueCross Blue Shield approved me as medically necessary!!! I was stunned!! I went for the consult... just for the hell of it... and my doc marked my reason as rashes. Never had to prove it or anything... first try, approved!!!!! Scheduled in February and still can't believe it!!!
  16. Wow... thanks for sharing!!! I sure choked and teared up on that one!!! I don't think I will ever be "thin" per se... but I am loving this difference 60+ lbs. has made me feel. I look at my pictures, too, from only one year ago, and it really does sicken me. I will never live that way again.
  17. I have always looked in on November Nymph's as I had my surgery in December... which iby the way is only a couple weeks after many of you. How sad that anyone would even make a pathetic remark about people being in the wrong spot!?!?!?!? I thought we were all here for one reason?? I wont' be back to this particular thread!
  18. I have had my band for almost a year and have had pretty good luck finding restriction after several fills. For the past two months maybe... its seems that instead of a full feeling in my throat or esophogus area, I seem to get full to the left side of my ribcage ...where my port rests. Then the full feeling pushes against my port and causes some pain. Any idea what could cause this??? Weird...
  19. Hi Everyone!!! I am still checking in here every now and then!! Haven't checked the Merry Losers in quite some time so It was so refreshing to see how well everyone is doing today!! I have been at a standstill and even put back on 2-3 pounds over the past couple months. However, I am getting back on the wagon tomorrow!!! Got to stop this snacking!!! I even chimed in on the November Nymphs who have a mini challenge going from now until New Years day. I am hoping to lose 10 pounds with some seriously hard work and effort. luv2teach... Really sorry to hear how bummed you are right now. It's always easier said then done... but take the negative and turn it into a positive. Enjoy being an independent woman on your own... it could be the best chapter of your life!! Make it happen!!! Never fear new possibilities!!!!

  22. You must be so pleased... and rightfully so!!! That's amazing!!! I hope for a great turnout myself. My doc won't do a tummytuck and lift at the same time. He belives the body should heal one area at a time. So I'll be waiting for the lift...

Anyone have abdominoplasty covered by insurance?

No documentation of any sort. Just my plastic surgeons write up that I suffer from rashes due to the excess skin. Whatever he wrote was like magic!! Of course my pictures could have made the panel feel sorry for me! My doc didn't even think it would work and he told me that straight out! They approved skin removal AND tummy tuck!!!

Anyone have abdominoplasty covered by insurance?
