I have to figure out how to change / edit my info... I've lost 70 lbs now, having a little slow down, but I feel that my body is just settling in to it's new size and that I'll start shrinking again very soon. I did try sausage and a weiner since I asked how they were tolerated by folks, and just as Lady1Put said, I can only eat a few bites, and they didn't bother my stomach at all

Thanks for your experiences with hot dogs/ sausages and spicy foods folks ! I'm 4 months post op, so I think I might just have a bite of one ( not a spicy one! ) when the family is having them...without the bun, and then have my own protein, like tuna or shrimp on a salad....that should satisfy my interest in how they taste and how they go down without causing too much damage, aye? lol

HI Folks...just wondering if anyone else was told that " hot dogs and sausages" would never be on their menu again, after the sleeve surgery? Also, has anyone eaten these items and how did your stomach react to them? I know that these meats / Proteins are not best ones for us, but I thought , if it's one of those " once in a while" items, and eaten in the proper small amount ( 3-4 oz. right? ) that it might be safe to include them in our eating choices. Thanks for sharing any info or experiences with me

Dear toler48- About the vitamins: I live in Canada but I'm pretty sure that you have costco in the USA, right? My bariatric clinic steers us to Costco to get Wellesse brand liquid Calcium with vit. D in it... because you have to take quite a bit of it and those pills are really big!... they also tell us that we must take prenatal Vitamins for the rest of our lives....I get those at Costco too.... these are big , and need to be split, as we're not to swallow hard pills that are bigger than a " Smartie"... I just cut mine in half with a knife. Also Vitamin B12, but that pill is manageable and we only need one per day. You may need a stool softener after the first couple of weeks, but those seem to come in smallish, gel capsule pills...easy to swallow. It may sound daunting at first , but after a few weeks, ( and using a " pill minder box" ) it all becomes routine and familiar and is no trouble. Good luck! You're going to feel so much better, more alive , it's worth the brave decision and work up front.

I had my sleeve surgery Feb. 11th, but my clinic has not yet told me any calorie intake to aim for. Has anybody else, among all of you who seem to be doing so well, been given a calorie number to aim for daily ? I read on some sites, that people who had lost all excess wgt. had been taking in between 600 and 800 calories / day!! That seems as if it would put you into " starvation mode". That was not senior folks though, maybe the youngsters can do it differently. I'm staying around 1,000 calories/day and have lost 38 lbs. , but wonder if this is a good idea. At any rate, I'm feeling much better and have more energy, although my arthritic knees haven't shown any improvement yet.... I'll be patient
